Control panel features 1 On : Turns the product on or off. When the product is off, a minimal amount of power is still used. To completely remove power, turn off the product, then unplug the power cord. 2 Resume : Instructs the HP Printer to continue after a problem is solved.

5. Select the appropriate options for your prin t job by using th e features availa ble in the Advanced , Printing Shortcuts , Features , and Color tabs. TIP: You can easily sel ect the appropri ate options for your print job by choosi ng one of the predefi ned print tasks on the Printing Shortcuts tab.
6. Click the Paper/Quality tab. 7. Select the appropriate opt ions. •O n Layout tab select Portrait or Landscape ori entation. •O n Paper/Quality tab select the appropriate paper t ype and print qu ality from the Media drop-down list. • Click Advanced to se lect the appropriate paper si ze from the Pape r/Output list.
9. Select the Borde rless pri nting check box if it is not already checked. If the borderl ess paper size and paper type are not compatible, t he product sof tware displays an alert an d allows you to sele ct a differen t type or size. 10. Click OK , and then click Print or OK in the Prin t dialog box.
6. Click the Features tab, and then select the f ollowing print settings: • Paper Type : Plain paper • Size : An appropriate envelope size 7. Select any other print set tings that you wa nt, and then click OK .

Order ink supplies For a list of cartri dge numbers, use t he software t hat came wit h the HP Print er to find o ut the reorder number. Find the cartridg e number 1. In the HP So lution Cen ter, click Settings , point to Print Settings , and then click Printer Toolbo x .
Automatically clean print cartridges If your printed pages are fa ded or if they conta in ink streaks, the pri nt cartridges might be low on ink or m ight need to be cl eaned. For more in formation, see “ Check the estimated ink levels” on page 25 .

1 Power connection 2 Power cord and adapter • If you are using a power strip, m a ke sure the power strip is on. Or, tr y plugging the product di rectly into a powe r outlet. • Test the power out let to make sure it is working. Plug in an app liance that you know works, and see if the app liance has power.
• Step 3: Check the con nection between th e product and computer Step 1: Press the On button to turn on the product Solution: Look at the On button located on the product. If it is not lit , the product is turned off. M ake sure the pow er cord is firmly connecte d to the p roduct and pl ugged into a power outlet.

Make sure you have the f ollowing mat erials available: • Dry foam rubber swabs, lint-f ree cloth, or any soft material th at will not come apart or leave fibers.
9. Repeat if nece ssary for the other print cartridge. 10. Gently close the print cartridge door and p lug the power cord into the back of the product. Cause: The print cartridge cont acts needed to be cleaned. If this did not so lve the issue, try the next solution.
Solution 1: Align the print cartridges Solution: Aligning the pri nt cartridges can h elp ensure high-qualit y output. To align the print cartridg es from the HP Officejet Software 1. Load letter or A4 unused plain wh ite paper into the paper tray. 2.
Step 1: Check the pri nt settings Solution: Check the pri nt settings. • Check the print setti ngs to see if the color se ttings are incorre ct. For example, check to see if the do cument is set to print in gra yscale.
If this did not solve the issue, try the next so lution. Reset the product Solution: Turn off the produ ct, and then unplug t he power cord. Plug the po wer cord back in, and then press the On button to turn on the product. Cause: The product expe rienced an error.
