2-8 Installation and Configuration Running Ec lipse F AX SE fr om the HP OfficeJet Series 300 Manager The HP Of ficeJet Series 300 Models 330 and 350 include a software application, Eclipse F AX SE, that allows the user to send and recei ve f axes directly to his or her PC, rather than to the de vice itself, and to do PC scanning.
2-9 Installation and Configuration Changing P arameters and Solving Pr oblems with the OfficeJet Service Application W ith assistance from a service representati ve, the Off iceJet Service Application is a program that allo ws the user to easily change Off iceJet parameters from the PC.

Ther e will be a delay of appr oximately 5 to 12 seconds befor e the HP Off iceJ et Series 300 service application appears on the scr een .

2-16 Installation and Configuration Installing Contr ol P anel and One-T ouch Overlays Each HP Of ficeJet Series 300 is shipped with a control panel ov erlay appropriate for the country of destination installed. The overlay has the HP logo and HP Model 300, Model 330, or Model 350 name as well as the control panel button names printed on it.

2-18 Installation and Configuration Installing an Interface Cable f or Printing The user must purchase separately a shielded Centronics bi-directionsl parallel interface cable to connect the HP Of ficeJet Series 300 to his computer for printing. He or she can use the HP C2950A (2 meter) or the HP C2951A (3 meter) Centronics parallel cable.

2-20 Installation and Configuration Installing an Access Door Assembl y 2 SL30B 1 The access door assembly contains the document feed tray and extender and adjustable paper size guides. Originals of fax es to be sent or documents to be copied are placed on the feed tray for processing.
2-21 Installation and Configuration Installing an Input T ray The input tray is also kno wn as the paper supply tray . This tray is where paper is loaded for the printing of recei ved fax es, print jobs, reports and copies. The tray holds 100 sheets of paper .

2-32 Installation and Configuration Setting the Number of Rings to Answer The number of rings setting is ONL Y used when the HP Off iceJet Series 300 is in the Auto Receiv e Mode. This setting is determines the number of rings sensed before the HP Of ficeJet Series 300 answers a call.
2-33 Installation and Configuration Selecting T one or Pulse Dialing The HP Off iceJet Series 300 is f actory set for touchtone (T one) dialing telephone systems. If used with a rotary (Pulse) dialing telephone system, the HP Of ficeJet Series 300 will need to be set for Pulse dialing.
2-34 Installation and Configuration Entering the Date and Time Date and T ime entries are required on all outgoing fax es. The fax log report will also reflect the date and time of transactions for reference. When entering the information, the current date and time should be entered for accurate reports and tracking of transactions.
2-35 Installation and Configuration Entering the Header Inf ormation (company name and fax n umber) Sender Identification and fax number entries are required on all outgoing faxes. This information will appear in the header of transactions for reference.

Changing a Print Car tridg e When installing or replacing a print cartridge, follo wing these recommendations will optimize the performance and extend the lifetime of the ink cartridge.

4-2 Calibration and Adjustment Intr oduction The only procedure a v ailable outside of the factory environment is the calibration chart, which can be printed out and used to determine if the top mar gin must be adjusted. This procedure is used to adjust the top margin when performing a copy function.

5-41 Prob lem Resolution Special Menus and Functions Special menus and various functions can be accessed through multiple (simultaneous) b utton presses while powering on the HP Off iceJet Series 300. These button combinations should be held prior to and during po wering on until the display reads “ Self T est Please W ait ”.
