FREEZER - MODELS RZA30, RZM30 INSTRUCTIONS FOR INST ALLA TION & USE GET TING ST ARTED: T o ensure that your freez er runs reliably and efficiently follo w these st eps. Choose a location for your freezer , away from an y heat sources and allow adequate ventilation - 30mm (1 1 / 4 inch) gap above .
F or Y our Safety For y our safety , read the following advice: The freezer c ooling system contains a small amount of gas which is en vironmentally friendly but flammable. T o a void any risk :- ● Install the freezer follo wing the installation instruc tions and ensure that ventilation openings are kept clear of obstruction.
Installation Location & Air Cir culation Locate y our freezer away from sour ces of heat e.g. Cookers, R adiat ors, D ir ect Sunlight as extreme temperature will aff ec t its performance. Allow a minimum 30mm (1 1 / 4 inch) between the top of the freezer and the underside of the worktop .
Installation Lev elling: Lev el the freezer when it is in its final location by adjusting the front feet , until firm contact is made with the floor . This will stop rocking or vibration and keep the door aligned which helps the freezer run reliably and efficiently .
Installation Electrical Supply W ARNING: This appliance must be earthed. The freez er must be positioned so that the plug is accessible after installation. Fu se s Y our applianc e comes fitted with a plug and a 13A fuse. I f y ou need to replace the fuse, only use those rated at 13A and AST A appr oved to BS1362.
C ontrols Con trolling the T emperature of the F reezer Compartment The control wheel on the fr ont of the worktop adjusts the inter nal freezer temperature .
C ontrols 7 CONTROLS Indicator Lights Green Mains Light The green mains light will sta y on as long as the elec tricity supply is not interrupted . Amber F ast Freez e Light The amber light indicates that the fast fr eeze button has been pressed on. By pressing this button on the freezer mot or will run continuously for extra cooling .
C ontrols F ast Freeze Butt on - Freezing fresh food The top compartment, with or without the drawer , should be used t o freeze fresh food . T ransfer already fr ozen f ood to one of the lower compartme nts/drawers. - Before loading 2k g or more of fresh food select fast freeze for the required pre-freeze time (see chart below).

Useful A dvice 10 Storing F ood in a Freezer ● F reeze and store either fr esh food or long term commercially fr oz en foods. ● Generally speaking long term storage means up to 3 months but t his can vary , so always follow y our supplier ’ s recommendations otherwise re f er to the pictorial guide on the door liner (see below).
Useful A dvice 11 Advic e on Using F reezer Draw ers This freezer can be used with or without the dra wers. However , th e bottom dra wer needs to remain in position at all times (to maintain the c orrec t storage t emperature).
Defrosting 12 Defrosting Regular use of your appliance causes ice to gr adually build up on internal sur faces increasing the running costs of your applianc e. When the ice is between 3-5mm ( 1 / 4 inch) Hotpoint recommend ‘fully defrosting your fr eezer ’ .
Cleaning 13 Cleaning W ARNING: Switch off electr ical supply and pull out mains plug bef ore cle aning. Interior 1. Remove f ood and wrap or cover to keep it fro zen. 2. Remove dra wers from each compartment and wash in warm water a nd washing up liquid using a soft cloth, dr y thoroughly .
14 Y ou will need a pozi head screwdriv er to carr y out this procedu re. Our Ser vice Department can arrange for an Engineer to do the con version for you but a charge will be made. Door Reversal W ARNING: Switch off electr ical supply and pull out the mains plug .

T roubleshooting 16 OPERA TING SOUNDS OF A FRIDGE FREEZER These are the normal types of sound that your freez er will make . The motor (compressor) makes a buzzing or humming sound when it is running. This can be louder when it first switches on. This sound will reduce ov er the first few months.
