Installation Preparation – Enclosur e PREP ARE DISHW ASHER ENCLOSURE Figure A To r educe the risk of shock , fire, or injury to persons, the installer must ensure that the dishwasher is completely enclosed at the time of installation.
ME THOD 1 – Air Gap with W aste Tee or Disposer Disposer Installation ME THOD 2 – High Drain Loop with W aste Tee or Disposer Provide a method to attach the drain hose to the underside of countertop.
The improper connection of the equipment- grounding conductor can result in electric shock. Check with a qualified electrician or service representative if you are in doubt that the appliance is properly grounded.
6 Installation Preparation – Hot W at er Supply PREP ARE HO T W A TER SUPPL Y Hot Water Line • The line may enter from either side, r ear or floor within the shaded area shown in Figur e F .
7 STEP 2: CHECK DOOR BAL ANCE • With the dishwasher on the wood base, check the door balance by opening and closing the door . • The door is properly balanced if it gently dr ops from a 1/2 open position and does not rise fr om the full open position.
• Install strain relief in the junction box brack et . • Insert the power cord through the strain r elief and tighten. • Make sure black, white and green dishwasher wires ar e threaded thr ough the small hole in the junction box bracket .
Bracket Attachment Screws (2 Each Side) Side- Mounting Brackets Tub Frame Skip this step if the underside of count ertop is wood or woodlike material. • Purchase and install the GPF65 side-mount bracket kit if the underside of counter is granite or a similar material that will not accept wood screws.
10 Dishwasher Installation Turn Legs to Adjust Figure S STEP 11: SLIDE DISHW ASHER INT O CABINE T IMP OR T ANT – Do not push against the front panel with knees. Damage will occur . • Grasp the sides of the front panel and slide the dishwasher into the opening a few inches at a time.
STEP 13: F ASTEN DISHW ASHER TO UNDERSIDE OF COUNTER TOP OR SIDES OF CABINE T In this step you will need the two 5/8" Phillips-head wood screws set aside in S tep 1. IMP OR T ANT – Dishwasher must be centered in cabinet opening. Inter fer ence with cabinets or counter top will cause leaks and damage to the door panel and/or control panel.
Dishwasher Installation 12 Waste Tee Installation Method 1 – Air gap with waste t ee or disposer Disposer Installation Waste Tee Installation Method 2 – “High drain loop ” with waste tee or disposer Fasten the drain hose to the underside of the countertop with a hanger .
Dishwasher Installation If house wiring is not 2-wire with a gr ound wire, a gr ound must be provided by the installer . When house wiring is aluminum, be sure to use UL listed anti-oxidant compound and aluminum-to-copper connect ors. STEP 17: INST ALL JUNCTION BOX C OVER If junction box cover is alr eady installed, skip to Step 18.
