FRIDGE FREEZER - MODELS FF A84, FFM84, FF A76, FFM76, FF A75 FF A74, FFM74, FF A64 & FFM64 INSTRUCTIONS FOR INST ALLA TION & USE GET TING ST ARTED: T o ensure that your fridge freezer runs r eliably and efficientl y follow these steps .
F or Y our Safety For y our safety , r ead the following advice: The fridge freezer cooling syst em contains a small amount of gas which is environmen tally fr iendly but flammable . T o a void any risk :- ● Install the fridge freezer follo wing the installation instruc ti ons and ensure that ventilation openings ar e k ept clear of obstruction.
Installation Location & Air Cir culation Locate y our fridge freezer away from sourc es of heat e.g. cookers, radiators, direct sunlight as extreme temperature will affect its per f or mance . Allow a minimum 100mm (4 inches) between the top of the fridge freezer and the ceiling or the underside of a wall cupboard .
Installation Lev elling: Lev el the fr idge freez er when it is in its final location by adjusting the front feet, until firm contact is made with the floor . This will st op rock ing or vibration and keep the door aligned which helps the fridge freezer run reliably and ef ficiently .
Installation Electrical Supply W ARNING: This appliance must be earthed. The appliance must be positioned so that the plug is acc essibl e af ter installation. Fu se s Y our appliance comes fitted with a plug and a 13A fuse. If you need to replace the fuse, only use those rated at 13A and AST A approved to BS1362.
C ontrols 6 Y ou can check the temperature of the fridge freezer compartments by using a F ridge F reezer Thermometer av ailable from Hotpoint Genuine Parts and Accessories Mail Order Hotline (see KEY CONT ACTS back page). W ARNING: Do not use a mercury filled ther momet er , as breakage would cause a health hazard .
C ontrols 7 CONTROLS Indicator Lights There are two amber ligh ts which indicate func tions are selected: ● The amber fast freeze light indicates that the fast freeze button has been pressed on. By pressing this button ON, the freezer motor will ru n continuously for extra cooling .
C ontrols 8 CONTROLS F ast Freeze Butt on - Freezing F resh Food The bottom compartment drawer should be used t o freeze fresh fo od. T ransfer already fro zen food to one of the upper draw ers. - Before loading 2k g or more of fresh food select fast freeze for the requir ed pre-freeze time (see chart below).
C ontrols 9 CONTROLS Holiday F unction ( Models FF A84, FFM84, FF A76, FFM76, FF A75, FF A74 & FFM74 only ) This featur e allows you to set your fridge compartment to a war mer setting while you are awa y on holiday , to reduce running costs without affecting t he freezer .
Useful A dvice 10 Note: The Rating Plate , which lists the appliance Model Number and Serial Number can be found near the bottom of freezer compartment on the interior wall. Note: The photographs indicate the F ast Freeze and storage areas (see tables).
Useful A dvice 11 Making the best use of your Fridge F reezer Note : Always use the handle pro vided to open the fridge / freezer door . T o ensure that y our fridge freezer operates as efficiently as possible : ● F ollow food packaging “best before/use by” instructions or your suppliers advice on a suitable maximum storage time .
Useful A dvice 12 Advic e on Adjusting Shelv es Make the most of the interior storage space by repositioning shelv es to suit the various heights of individual items y ou wish to store . Note : Only the front half of the shelf can be repositioned, the back half must remain in its original position.
Useful A dvice 13 Salad Bins F or the storage of fruit, vegetables and salad items. When storing vegetables , remo ve unusable leaves and soil. Leav e l ettuce, cabbage and cauliflower on the stem. It is advisable to clean the salad bin regularly , it can be removed by sliding it out fr om position.
Useful A dvice 14 Storing F ood in a Freezer ● F reeze and store either fr esh food or long term commercially fro zen foods. ● Generally speaking long term storage means up to 3 months but this can vary , so always follo w your supplier ’ s recommendations otherwise refer to the pictorial guide on the door liner (as shown).
Useful A dvice 15 Advic e on Using Freezer Dr awers The freezer c ompartments must be used with the drawers. The storage dra wers can be easily removed . Pull the dr awer towar ds y ou until it reaches it’ s stop position. Hold securely on both sides, lif t the front of the dra wer to release and remov e.
Defrosting 16 Fr idge compartment No manual defrosting required The fridge compartment will defrost automatically . During defros t periods water droplets form on the interior back wall of y our Fridge and refr eeze afterwards. W ARNING: Ensure that stored f ood does not come into contact with the int erior back wall of your F ridge.
Cleaning 17 Cleaning W ARNING: Switch off electrical supply and pull out mains plug before cle aning . Interior Note : W e recommend you use a straw t o keep the defrost gutter d rain hole clear of any blockage. DO NO T use sharp metal tools which could cause damage beyond repair .
Going A way If you are going awa y and don’t w ant to use your fridge freezer , switch off electricity supply and pull out the mains plug. Remove f ood and follow the cleaning instructions on the previous page. Note : L ea v e the do ors ajar to pre vent an accumulation of odours .
Door Rev ersal 19 Door Reversal Y ou will need a selec tion of small tools , screw dr iv ers, spanners etc. to carr y out this procedure . Our Ser vice Department can arrange for an Engineer to do the con version for you but a charge will be made. W ARNING: Switch off electrical supply and pull out the mains plug.
Door Rev ersal 20 Door Handle Reversal (model FF A75 only): 12. Remove the hole plugs from the right hand side of the door . 13. Unscrew the handle fixing screws and carefully remo ve the handle from the door . 14. T urn the handle vertically , top t o bottom and place against the right hand side.
Door Rev ersal 21 CLEANING & MAINTENANCE Refit T op Door 22. Using a thin blunt instrument, remove the hinge bush cap from the top left of the door and refit on the top right. 23. Replace the spacing washers onto the cen tre hinge bracket. Note : Y ou may require assistance to do this: 24.

23 TROUBLESHOOTING T roubleshooting The holida y mode setting won’ t stay on? (Mo dels FF A84, FFM84, FF A76, FFM76, FF A75, FF A74 & FFM74 only) 1. The holiday mode setting can only be set when the door is closed. Opening the door or pressing any other button will turn holiday mode off .
