10 II. Installation and Operating Instructions A. Checks Bef ore Installation IMPOR T ANT 1. Remov e shipping car ton, tape(s) and packing. If packing material is left in the icemaker , it will not work proper ly . 2. Ensure all components, f asteners and thumbscre ws are securely in place .

12 E. Electrical Connection W ARNING 1. Electr ical connection must be made in accordance with the instructions on the "W ARNING" tag, provided with the pig tail leads in the junction bo x. 2. This icemaker requires a ground that meets the national and local electrical code requirements.
13 F . Installation of Remote Condenser Unit 1. Checks Bef ore Installation 1) Unpack and remo ve shipping car ton, tape(s) and packing. 2) Check that the refrigerant lines do not rub or touch lines or other surf aces , and that the f an b lade mov es freely .
14 3. Setup 1) Secure the legs to the condenser unit with eight M8 x 16 mm he xagon bolts and M8 nuts as sho wn in the illustration. See Fig. 5. Note: Locate the legs symmetrically . 2) The legs hav e eight mounting holes. Secure the legs with eight bolts (not included).
15 4. Electrical Connection W ARNING This remote condenser unit requires a ground that meets the national and local electrical code requirements. T o pre v ent possib le electrical shock to individuals or e xtensiv e damage to equipment, install a proper ground wire to the condenser unit.

Stacking Condenser Unit 1) Secure the low er condenser unit to the legs with eight bolts (not included). 2) Attach the upper condenser unit on the top of the low er . 3) Secure the upper condenser unit with the f our scre ws provided. 4) Install refrigerant lines, and mak e electrical connection f or each f an motor as shown in Items 3.
17 G. W ater Suppl y and Drain Connections See Fig. 9 CA UTION T o prev ent damage to the pump assembly , do not operate the icemak er when the water supply is OFF , or if the pressure is below 10 PSIG. Do not run the icemaker until the proper w ater pressure is reached.

If the unit is tur ned off, w ait for at least 3 minutes bef ore restar ting the icemaker to pre v ent damage to the compressor . 3. Do not operate the unit in the "W ASH" position without water in the water tank.
21 J . Preparing the Icemaker for Long Stora ge CA UTION When shutting off the icemaker f or an e xtended time, dr ain out all water from the water line and remo v e the ice from the storage bin.
22 3. Follow the instructions below to drain the potab le water tank. 1) T ur n off the power supply . 2) Mov e the control switch on the control bo x to the "OFF" position. 3) Remov e the base cov er . 4) Remov e one end of the pump tubing and drain the water tank.
23 III. Cleaning and Maintenance Instructions IMPOR T ANT Ensure all components, f asteners and thumbscrews are securely in place after any maintenance or cleaning is done to the equipment. A. Cleaning Instructions W ARNING 1. HOSHIZAKI recommends cleaning this unit at least once a year .
24 1. Cleaning Procedure 1) Dilute appro ximately 16 fl. oz. of recommended cleaner Hoshizaki "Scale A wa y" or "LIME-A-W A Y ," (Economics Laborator y , Inc.) with 3 gal. of water . 2) Remov e all ice from the ev aporator and the storage bin.
25 2. Sanitizing Procedure - Follo wing Cleaning Procedure 1) Dilute a 5.25% sodium h ypochlorite solution with water (Add 1.5 fl. oz. of sanitizer to 3 gal. of water). 2) Remov e the insulation panel. 3) P our the sanitizing solution into the water tank.
26 B. Maintenance IMPOR T ANT This icemaker m ust be maintained individually , ref erring to the instr uction manual and labels pro vided with the icemak er . 1. Stainless Steel Exter ior T o prev ent corrosion, wipe the exterior occasionally with a clean and soft cloth.
