13 II. Installation and Operating Instructions A. Checks Bef ore Installation IMPOR T ANT 1. Remov e all shipping car tons, tape and pac king. If packing material is left in the icemaker , it will not work proper ly . 2. Ensure all components, f asteners and thumbscre ws are securely in place.
14 C. Location W ARNING This icemaker is not intended f or outdoor use. Nor mal operating ambient temperature should be within +45°F to +100°F (+7°C to +38°C); Nor mal operating w ater temperature should be within +45°F to +90°F (+7°C to +32°C).
15 CA UTION Bef ore operating the icemak er , the bin control ther mostat assembly must be installed correctly . F ailure to properly install the assembly could result in ice backup and unit damage . 5) Install the bin control ther mostat. a. Remov e the baffle from the bin.
16 If a Hoshizaki B-800, B-900 or B-1150 bin is being used: g. Put aside the "Z" brack et; it is not needed with the bins listed abov e. h. Remov e the two scre ws from the lo wer par t of the ther mostat brac ket (plastic) and use them to attach the ther mostat e xtension brack et (stainless) to the ther mostat brac ket (plastic).
17 7) Remov e the ther mostat bulb attachment (plastic) of the upper unit from the thermostat e xtension brac ket (stainless). 8) Carefully remov e the ther mostat bulb from the thermostat bulb attachment (plastic) of the upper unit.
18 Fig. 8b F . Electrical Connection W ARNING 1. Electr ical connection must be made in accordance with the instructions on a "W ARNING" tag, provided with the pig tail leads in the junction bo x. 2. This icemaker requires a ground that meets the national and local electrical code requirements.
19 G. Installation of Remote Condenser Unit 1. Checks Bef ore Installation 1) Unpack and remo ve shipping car ton, tape(s) and packing. 2) Check that the refrigerant lines do not rub or touch lines or other surf aces , and that the f an b lade tur ns freely .
20 3. Setup 1) Secure the legs to the condenser unit with eight M8×16 mm he xagon bolts and M8 nuts as shown in the illustr ation. See Fig. 10. Note: Locate the legs symmetrically . 2) The legs hav e eight mounting holes. Secure the legs with eight bolts (not included).
21 4. Electrical Connection W ARNING This remote condenser unit requires a ground that meets the national and local electrical code requirements. T o pre v ent possib le electrical shock to individuals or e xtensiv e damage to equipment, install a proper ground wire to this condenser unit.
22 H. W ater Suppl y and Drain Connections See Fig. 14a, 14b and 14c W ARNING T o prev ent damage to the pump assembly , do not operate the icemak er when the water supply is OFF , or if the pressure is below 10 PSIG. Do not run the icemaker until the proper w ater pressure is reached.

Do not operate the unit in the "W ASH" position without water in the water tank.
27 III. Cleaning and Maintenance Instructions IMPOR T ANT Ensure all components, f asteners and thumbscrews are securely in place after any maintenance or cleaning is done to the equipment. A. Cleaning Instructions W ARNING 1. HOSHIZAKI recommends cleaning this unit at least once a year .
28 1. Cleaning Procedure 1) Dilute appro ximately 38 fl. oz. of recommended cleaner Hoshizaki "Scale A wa y" or "LIME-A-W A Y ," (Economics Laborator y , Inc.) with 7 gal. of water . 2) Remov e all ice from the ev aporator and the storage bin.
29 24) T ur n on the power supply to rinse off the cleaning solution. 25) T ur n off the power supply after 5 min utes. 26) Remov e the front panel and the insulation panel. 27) Remov e the cap located on the front bottom par t of the ice dropping hole .
30 2. Storage Bin and Scoop • W ash y our hands bef ore remo ving ice. Use the plastic scoop provided (bin accessory). • The storage bin is f or ice use only . Do not store anything else in the bin. • K eep the scoop clean. Clean it by using a neutr al cleaner and rinse thoroughly .
31 2. Remove the water fr om the potable water suppl y line: 1) Remov e the front panel. (Except water-cooled model) 2) Mov e the control switch on the control bo x to the "OFF" position. 3) W ait 3 minutes . 4) Close the potable w ater supply line shut-off valv e and open the potable water supply line drain v alve .
