27 2. Brazing W ARNING 1 . R-1 34a itself is not ammab le at atmospher ic pr essur e and t emperatur es up to 21 2°F (1 00°C). 2. R-1 34a itself is not e xplosiv e or poisonous.
28 6) A liquid charge is r ecommended when charging an R-1 34a sy stem. Place the ser vice cylinder on the scales; if the ser vice cylinder is not equipped with a dip tube, in v er t the ser vice cylinder , then place it on the scales. Open the high-side val v e on the g auge manif old.
29 1 5) Evacuat e the syst em, then charge it with r efrigerant. See the nameplate f or the requir ed refrigerant char ge. 1 6) Connect the t er minals and r eplace the t erminal cov er in its corr ect position. 1 7) Replace the contr ol bo x, louver , and panels in their correct positions.

31 7) Grasp the t op of the auger and mo v e the auger to wards y ou and then tr y to inser t a .02" round st ock or pin g auge in bet ween the back side of the auger shaf t and the bearing surface . See Fig . 8. Check se v eral locations around the auger shaf t.
32 2. Remo v al and R eplacement of Extruding Head 1) Mov e the power s witch to the "OFF" position, then unplug the unit fr om the electrical outlet. 2) Close the wat er supply line shut-of f val ve . 3) Remo ve all ice fr om the st orage bin.
33 8) Remo ve the clamp securing the drain plug , then low er the drain hose int o a container . Remo ve the drain plug t o drain the wat er fr om the r eser v oir and ev aporator assemb ly . 9) Af ter all of the wat er has drained, replace the dr ain hose , drain plug , and drain clamp in their original positions.
34 9) Disconnect the drain hose and r eser v oir hose from the e vaporat or . 1 0) R emov e the packing . 1 1) Remov e the allen head cap scre ws securing the e xtruding head and ev aporator ange. Remo ve the e vaporat or ange , then grasp the cut ter and car efull y lif t out the cut ter and e xtruding head.
35 5. Remo v al and R eplacement of Mechanical Seal and Lo w er Housing 5a. Mechanical Seal 1) Mov e the power s witch to the "OFF" position, then unplug the unit fr om the electrical outlet. 2) Close the wat er supply line shut-of f val ve .
36 1 8) Install the low er par t of the mechanical seal onto the lo wer housing . 1 9) Lower the e vapor at or down and secur e it to the lo wer housing . 20) Install the auger assemb l y with the upper par t of the mechanical seal at tached. Replace the cut ter , extruding head, and e v aporat or ange in their corr ect positions.

38 VI. Cleaning and Maintenance This icemaker m ust be cleaned and maintained in accor dance with the instr uction manual and labels pr o vided with the icemak er . 39 3) W hile maintaining a hold on the door , remov e the hinge stop pin fr om hinge (B). P ull out the bot tom of the door slightl y , then gently r emov e the door fr om hinge (A). See Fig . 1 0. 4) Remo ve the 2 scr e ws securing the top panel, then lif t it of f.
40 1 2) Allow the icemaker t o sit for 1 0 minut es bef ore operation. If you placed a clamp on the reservoir hose in st ep 1 1, remo v e it bef ore operation and r eplace the spout in its correct position. 1 3) Plug the unit back in. Mov e the po wer s witch to the "ON" position.
41 5. Sanitizing Pr ocedur e - F inal 1) Remo ve the drain plug t o drain any r emaining solution. 2) Af ter all of the solution has drained, r eplace the drain plug in its correct position.
42 B. Maintenance The maintenance schedule belo w is a guideline. More frequent maint enance may be requir ed depending on wat er quality , the icemak er's en vir onment, and local sanitation regulations . W ARNING 1 . Only quali ed ser vice technicians should at tempt t o ser vice this icemak er .
