Hard surface floor cleaning The power nozzle can be used for cleaning hard surface floors such as wood, linoleum, vinyl, asphalt and rub- ber tile, sealed cork, concrete and ter- razzo, as well as carpet. T o tur n the brushes off for har d sur face floor cleaning, press the FLOOR/CAR- PET (E) switch again.
C C F J G H I The dirt cup needs emptying before the dirt reaches the “MAX” line (A) on the dirt cup or after ever y use if preferred. CAUTION: V ery fine materials, such as face powder , cornstarch, fireplace ashes or fireplace soot, may seal the filter and cause loss of suction.
Exhaust filter How to clean T urn cleaner off and disconnect from electrical outlet. The exhaust filter , located behind the grill on the body of the cleaner , is wash- able. T o clean, rotate grill (F) counter - clockwise. Remove the exhaust filter (G).
Position hood on top of nozzle base. T urn nozzle over . Replace 2 short screws at the back of nozzle and 2 long screws at the front. Replace brush roll cover (G) over agita- tor brush roll. Replace 3 short screws. Lift up end of agitator brush roll. Remove old belt from agitator pulley (I) and replace with new belt.
9 Continued ➟ 3-16 Agitator brush roll r eplacement When to replace Disconnect cleaner from electrical outlet. When agitator brush roll brushes ar e worn, the brush roll should be replaced. T o check condition of brushes, move edge of a card acr oss bottom plate while turning brush roll.
10 3-21 E C 3. Remove agitator including end plates (C) and discard. 4. Inspect belt to ensure that it is in good condition. If belt is cracked, gouged or broken, r eplace it (see follow- ing section). 5. Insert brush roll through belt and position belt over gear teeth (D) on brush roll.
