Fill in and Retain This HOOVER deep cleaner is designed for deep cleaning carpet, rugs, carpeted stairs and upholstery. The model and serial numbers are located on the data label on the back of the handle. For your personal records, please enter the COMPLETE model and serial numbers in the spaces provided and retain this information.

If it should malfunction or breakdown, grounding provides a path of least resis- tance for electrical current to reduce the risk of electric shock. This appliance is equipped with a cord having an equip- ment-grounding conductor (C) and grounding plug (A).
The assembled cleaner will look like this drawing (Ultra model shown). Attach upper handle q Remove clean solution tank (upper tank) from deep cleaner. EII With cord hook (A) to back of deep cleaner, push upper handle down onto lower handle. Push bolts into holes on front of handle.
Attach hose rack q , Remove tool and taped screw from rack. Insert projections on rack into slots on back of cleaner. q Slide rack down into place. Insert screw at (D) and tighten with a Phillips screwdriver. Storing hose & tools q Store hose on rack by first position- ing hose in front section of clip.
The assembled deep cleaner will look like the drawing. 5 16 18 . q 1. Hand grip 2. Solution trigger: press to release clean solution. 3. Cord clip: place cord in clip to keep it out of the way when using cleaner 4. Hose 5. Hose holders: wrap hose around holders for storage.
q The deep cleaner may also be lift- ed by placing a hand under the upper clean solution tank handle as shown. El ’ When the recovery tank (lower tank) is full the automatic shutoff mechanism will shut off the deep cleaner suction (suc- tion will be noticeably reduced).
. q Rotate tank cap counterclockwise and lift up to remove cap. Turn cap (A) upside down to serve as a measuring cup. Do not use Bare Floor Cleaner on carpet or upholstery. Do not use any type of wax with your ‘SteamVac’ deep cleaner. NOTE: Use only HOOVER detergents.
q Raise handle to carrying position (straight up) to unlock tank from base of deep cleaner. Lift tank from deep cleaner and carry it to a sink or drain. q , To remove tank lid, lower handle completely toward back of tank and lift off lid. Empty the tank and reposition the lid.
To clean the outside of the machine, wipe off dirt with a cloth dampened in warm water and mild detergent. Do not use solvent or petroleum based prod- ucts to clean the machine.
c Dry hands and plug deep cleaner into a properly grounded outlet. Step on handle release pedal and lower handle to operating position; turn deep cleaner ON. To release solution, press trigger. Slowly move deep cleaner forward and back- ward over area to be cleaned.
Lift tool, and position it against riser. Pull tool slowly over carpet without pressing trigger (dry stroke). It is best to alternate wet and dry strokes as described above. End with more dry strokes to aid in faster drying of carpet. Overlap strokes by l/2 inch to help pre- vent streaking.
