4 B A ON-OFF-HUSH™ switch Plug cord into electrical outlet. T o tur n cleaner ON, push switch (B) up. T o tur n cleaner OFF , push switch to middle position. For quieter vacuuming, push switch down (HUSH) position. Put Power Boost Switch in neutral when using ON or HUSH setting.

6 J 2-13 Remove hose When using cleaning tools, cleaner handle should be in the upright posi- tion. Also, turn cleaner OFF before disconnecting and connecting the hose (J). Remove hose end from cleaner base. 2-14 K Attach wand and tools The tools are attached to the hose or the wand in the same manner .
7 H 3-5 Remove dirt cup and dir t cup lid as described in “How to empty dirt cup”. Grasp pre-filter frame (H) and pull up firmly . Slide filter assembly out of cup. Filter assembly How to clean filter assembly The HEP A filter and pre-filter screen ar e essentially self-shedding.
8 3-12 Lift out filter (K) and hand wash in cold water with a mild detergent. Let filter air dry then reposition. Replace lens and screws. Should you want to replace this filter , ask for HOOVER part no. 38765024 (filter package part no. 40110004). Do not operate cleaner without any of the filters in place.

10 Lubrication The motor is equipped with bearings that contain sufficient lubrication for the life of the motor . The addition of lubricant could cause damage.
11 Ther mal pr otector An internal ther mal pr otector has been designed into your cleaner to protect it from overheating. When the thermal protector activates, the cleaner will stop running. If this happens, proceed as follows: 1. T urn the cleaner OFF and discon- nect it from the electrical outlet.

22 2-5 Positions du manche Le manche de l’aspirateur comporte trois positions : position verticale, pour l’utilisation des accessoires ; position de fonctionnement, pour l’utilisation normale sur les planchers et tapis; et position basse pour nettoyer sous les meubles.

3-22 Insér er l’agitateur dans la courr oie et la placer dans le guide-courroie (D). 3-23 Saisir fermement l’agitateur puis l’insérer en position, d’abord en faisant glisser son extrémité opposée à la courroie dans la rainure r ectangulaire (E) sur le côté de l’appareil.
