– 30 – Bypassing Protection Zone s Using the 6 BYP A SS Key This key is used when you wa nt to arm your s ystem with one or mor e zones intenti onally unprotected. Bypass ed zones are unprotected an d will not cause an alarm when violated while y our syste m is armed.
– 31 – Bypassing Protection Zone s (cont ’ d) Quick By pass Your sy stem allo ws you to easily bypass all ope n (fau lted) zo nes wi thout having to enter zone numbers individually. Note: All bypasses are removed wh en an OFF s equence (securit y code plus OFF) is performed.
– 32 – Bypassing Protection Zone s (cont ’ d) Group Bypass Your syst em allows you to eas ily bypas s a group of zones wit hout having to enter zone numbers i ndividually. The system provides up to 15 groups. There is no li mit to the number of z ones that may be assi gned to any one group.
– 33 – Arming Perimeter Only (With Entry Delay ON) Using the 3 STAY key Use thi s key when you a re st aying home, bu t might expect someon e to us e the entran ce door later. When arme d in S TAY mod e, the sy stem will soun d an alarm if a pro tected door or window is opened, but you may otherwise move freely through out the prem ises.
– 34 – Arming Perimeter Only (With Entry Dela y ON) (cont ’ d) Au t o -S T AY Ar m in g Auto-stay allows the sy stem to automa tically bypass c ertain zones if upo n arming none of the entr y/exit zones are faul ted during t he exit del ay time (n o one exits the premises ).
– 35 – Arming Perimeter Only (With Entr y Delay OFF) Using the 7 INSTANT Key Use thi s key when you ar e sta ying home and do not expect anyon e to use the entrance door. When armed in INSTA NT mode, th e syste m will sound an alarm if a protected door or windo w is opened, b ut you m ay otherwi se move freel y throughout t he premises.
– 36 – Arming All Protection (With Ent ry Delay ON) Using the 2 AW AY K e y Use this key whe n no on e will be stayin g on the premise s. When arme d in AWAY mo de, the sy stem will so und an alarm if a p rotected door or window is opened, or if any movement is det ected inside the premis es.
– 37 – Arming all Protection (with Entry Delay OFF) Using the 4 MA XIMUM Key Use this ke y when the pre mises will be v acant fo r extend ed period s of time such as vac ations, e tc., or w hen no one will be movin g through protected interior area s.
– 38 – Quick Exit Using the # + 9 Ke y s The Quic k Exit f eatur e all ows you to exi t the arm ed par tition wi thout h avin g to disar m and then r earm th e partit ion. To Quick Ex it the premi ses: 1. Press the # key and then press t he 9 key.
– 39 – Disarming and Silencing Al arms Using the 1 OFF Key The OFF key is used to di sarm the sys tem and to sil ence alarm and t rouble sound s. See Summary of Audible Notification section fo r information that will help y ou to dist inguis h betwee n FIRE and BUR GLARY al arm sounds.
– 40 – Using the Keyswitch General Your system ma y be equipped wit h a keyswi tch for use when arming and disarmi ng a partiti on. A red and green light on the keys witch pla te indicate the st atus of your sy stem as f ollows: Green Light: Lights when the s ystem is disarmed and ready to be armed (no open zon es).
– 41 – Chime Mode Using the 9 Key Your syst em can be set to alert you t o the opening of a door or wi ndow while it is di sarmed by using C HIME mo de. Whe n activ ated , three tones w ill so und at the Keypa d whenever a protected peri meter door or window i s opened, and the No t Ready me ssage will be di splayed.
– 42 – Viewing Alarm Company Messages General Information User s of the sy stem may periodic ally r eceiv e mes sages on their displ ay screen s from th eir moni tori ng agen cy or insta ller. When a messag e is w aitin g to be vi ew ed, the m essag e sh own b elow w ill app ear.
– 43 – Panic Keys (For Manually Activat ing Silent and/or Audible Alarms) Using Panic Key s Your system ma y have been programmed to use special k ey combinations to manually a ctivate panic funct ions. The funct ions that mi ght be programmed are Sil ent Emergency, Audible Emergency, and Personal Emergency.
– 44 – Relay Control General Information Your syste m may be set up using a relay so that a door (such as in a lobby) can be unlocked mo mentarily using a keypad co mmand. – 45 – Using #70 Relay Menu Mode General Information Your system m ay be s et up so that cer tain lig hts or other d evic es can b e turned on or off by using t he #70 com mand f rom a key pad. Ask your inst aller if this has b een done in your sy stem.

The acti ons that may be activated are relay command s, arm/disarm co mmands, zone bypassing comman ds, and op en/clo se acce ss condi tions.

– 55 – Event Log Procedures General Information The syst em has the ab ility t o record various event s in a history log wherei n each event is recorded in one of five catego ries (li sted below ), w ith the time and date of it s occurrence.

– 57 – Testing the System (To Be Conducted W eekly) Using the 5 TEST Key The TEST key puts y our syste m into Bu rglary Walk Te st mode , which allow s each burglary prot ection point to b e checked for proper op eration. 1. Disa rm the sys tem and close all protected windo ws, doors, etc.
– 58 – Fire Alarm System Your fire alarm system (if in stalled) is on 24 hou rs a day, pro viding continuous prot ection. In the event of a n emergency, the sm oke and heat detectors a utomatically send si gnals to your C ontrol, tri ggering a loud interrupti ng sound from t he keypad and the opti onal exterior s ounders.
– 59 – Fire Alarm System (cont ’ d) Event Display Lock If several zones produce an alarm, trouble or supervisory, the system wil l displa y the first zone that produced a n event. T o dis play the ot her zone(s) in alarm or t rouble, pres s the [*] key for each zone.
– 60 – Trouble Conditions Typical Trouble Displ ays The w ord CHECK or TRBL on the K eypad's disp lay, accomp anied by a rapid "beeping" at the Keypa d, indicat es there is a troub le condition in th e system. To silence the beep ing sound for troubl e conditions, press any key.
– 61 – Trouble Conditions (cont ’ d) • A display of " COMM. FAILURE " at the Keypad indicates that a fai lure has occurred in t he telephone communication po rtion of your sys tem.
– 62 – Emergency Evacuation Estab lish and regula rly practice a pl an of escape in the event of fire. Th e following steps are recommended by the Na tional Fi re Protection Ass ociation: 1. Position your det ector or your int erior and/or exter ior sounders s o that they can be heard by al l occupants.
