69-1726 —1 10 Step 5. Label Old Thermo stat Wires 1. As you disc onnec t each wire, use t he enclose d wire label s to wrap a wire lab el around eac h wir e that matches the l etter desi gnation. Do not all ow the wire s to f all into the wa ll o pening after the wi res are disc onnected.

Selec t th e correct let ter designa t ions to f oll ow for your s ystem. If y ou have a st andard heat ing and/ or cool i ng syst em, use the CONVENTIONAL le tter desi gnations.

19 69-1726—1 Step 7. Connect Wires to New W allplate (Cont) 1 M22246 If wires will be connected to both R C and R on the new thermostat, remove metal jumper wire between R C and R. Leave metal jumper wire in place if only one of the terminals, R C or R, will be connected on the new thermostat.
