Non-programmable Thermostat RTH111 1 This thermostat is compatible wi th the following systems: • Gas, oil or electric furnace • Central air condition er • Hot water system wi th or without pump • Millivolt system • Central heating and cooling system • Heat pump without a uxiliary/backup heat Identify System T ype 1.
Quick Installa tion Guide 2 1) T urn power off at the h eating/cooling system. 2) Remove old thermostat, but leave wallplate with wires attached. MERCUR Y NOTICE : Do not put your old thermostat in the trash if it contains mercury in a sealed tube.
Non-programmable Thermostat RTH111 3 If any wires are not attached to your old thermostat or are attached to a terminal marked C or C1 , they will not be connected to your new thermostat. Wrap the bare met al end of each of these wires with elec trical tape, so it cannot touch and short other wires.
Quick Installa tion Guide 4 1) Loosen the locking screw at the bottom of the thermostat. Note that the screw is captive and cannot be removed from the wallpla te. 2) Separate the thermostat from the wallp late as per Figure 1. 3) Position the wallplate against the wall and mark hole positions wi th a pencil.
Non-programmable Thermostat RTH111 5 T ypical Wiring 1) Match each labeled wire with the terminal having the same letter . 2) Loosen the terminal screws using a screwdriver , insert the wires, then tighten the screws. 3) Push any excess wire back into the wall opening.
Quick Installa tion Guide 6 Alternate Wiring If a labeled wire does n ot match any terminal designation, see diagram below . Do not use C, C1 or X wire.
Non-programmable Thermostat RTH111 7 Set jumper JP1, on the back of the thermostat, if you have connected a wire to the G terminal. Incorrect jumper setting : An incorrect setting is noticeable in a gas or oil heating system.
Quick Installa tion Guide 8 Set jumper JP2, on the back of the thermostat, if you have a heat pump. Incorrect jumper s etting : The heat pump operatio n will be reversed, i.e., it will cool in Heat mode and wil l heat in Cool mode. Set Heat Pump R eversing V alve 7.
Non-programmable Thermostat RTH111 9 1) Install 2 AAA batteries on the back of the thermostat. 2) Align the two brackets on the top of the thermostat with the corresponding slots on the top of the wallplate. 3) Push the thermostat against the wallplate.
Quick Installa tion Guide 10 Follow the procedure below to personalize and configure the thermostat according to the heati ng/ cooling system. 1) Press the Up and Down buttons simultan eously (for three seconds) until the display appears as shown below .

Guía de instalación rápida 2 1) Cortar la electricidad del sistema de calefacción/ aire acondicionado. 2) Retirar el viejo termostato pero dejar la placa mural con los cables conectados. ADVERTENCIA SOBRE EL MERCURIO No arrojar el viejo termost ato a la basura si contie ne mercurio en un tubo sellado.
Termostato no programable RTH111 3 Si en el viejo termostato hub iera cables no conectados o conectados a un terminal marcado C o C1 , estos cables no se usarán con el nuevo termostato. Recubrir el extremo de metal desnudo de cada uno con cint a aisladora para que no puedan tocarse y producir un corto cir cuito.

El tornillo está cautivo y no se lo puede retirar de la base . 2) Separar el termostato de la placa mural como se indica en la Figura 1. 3) Colocar la placa mural contra la pared y marcar la posición de los aguje ros con un lápiz .
