5 69-1532 STEP 1. PREPARE FOR INSTAL LATION ❑ Check T able 1, t he compatibility chart, to make sure the thermostat is c ompatible with your sy stem. If your system is not compatible, call Hone ywell Customer Relations Center , toll-free, 1-800-468-1502.
6 6 9 - 1532 STEP 2. REMOVE OLD THERMO STAT ❑ T est your heating and cooling systems to make sure they work properly . If either system does not work, contact your local heating/air-conditioning dealer . T o avoid comp ress or damage, do not operate the cooling system when outdoor temperature is below 50°F (10°C).
7 69-1532 STEP 3. MOUNT THERMOST AT WALLPLATE ❑ Separate the wallplate fr om the thermostat by placing your thumb or fingers between the bottom of the wallplate and the therm ostat, and pulling the wallplate up and away from the t hermostat. See illustration at right.
69-1532 8 STEP 4. WIRE WALLPLATE TERMINALS IMPORT ANT All wiring must comply with local codes and ordinances. I f unsure about hous ehold wiring proc edures, call your local heat- ing/air- conditioning contractor. Refer to the labels you placed on t he wires when y ou removed th e old thermostat (see illustration).

69-1532 18 Change Temperature Setting Indefinitely (Hold) ❑ Move the Syst em switch to the desired position (Heat o r Cool). ❑ Press then or t o change your setting if desired. (The di splay changes from showing the setpoint temperature to room temperature after approximately three seconds).

Use for improved air circulation or for more efficient central air cleaning. (In a heat-only sy stem, fan run s continuously only if fan relay is connected to the G thermos tat terminal).
