Install Batteries IMPORT ANT Batteries must be installe d for the pro - grammi ng and ope ration of t he ther- mostat and heati ng/coolin g system. ❑ Purchas e two AA alka line batte ries; non- alkali ne batterie s do not l ast as long , and can lea k, causi ng damag e to the th ermostat or th e wall su rfac e.

If you ins ert the new batt erie s within 20 to 30 s econds of removi ng the old ones, y ou do not need to rep rogram the thermos tat. Howe ver , if the display is blank , the batteries are dead or incorrect ly install ed and you mu st reprogra m.

A single-s peed fan will turn on a utomatic ally with the air conditi oner or furn ace. A two-s peed fan usua l ly run s on h i gh wit h the air cond itio ner and on l ow with the furna ce.
