Install ing the Bat tery P ac k We recommend use of Honeywell per ipherals, power cables, and power adapters. Use o f any non-Honeyw ell peripherals, cables, or power adapters may cause damage not covered by the warranty. Resetting the T e rminal There are three t ypes of sys tem rese ts: a soft reset, a h ard reset, or a facto ry rese t. The s oft and ha rd resets prese rve all d ata stored in the file syst em. Contac t a Hone ywell t echnica l supp ort represen tative for more i nformation on how to perform a facto ry reset.
ActiveSync Comm unication To sync hronize data (e.g., e-mail, c ontacts, a nd calen dar betwe en the term inal and t he host work station (PC): 1. ActiveSyn c® (versio n 4.5 or hi gher) or Windows® Mobile Device Cen ter (WDMC) must be instal led on yo ur PC.
Install ing a Memor y Card 1. Suspend t he termina l. 2. Unlock and remo ve the ba ttery door. 3. Remove the b attery. 4. Slide the latch toward the bottom of the te r- minal to unloc k the SIM card. 5. Lift the SIM ca rd latch to reve al the SIM card.
Installing a SIM Car d 1. Suspend t he termina l. 2. Unlock and remo ve the ba ttery door. 3. Remove the b attery. 4. Slide the latch toward the bottom of the terminal to unlock the SIM card . 5. Lift the SIM card lat ch. 6. Insert the SIM card i nto the SIM card socket.
Using the Scan Engine Point the aiming beam a t a bar cod e. The aim ing beam must al ign with the ba r code for the best resul ts. Holding the termin al between 4-10 inches (10-25 cm) from a bar cod e is recomm ended. Note: The tou ch panel displ ay can be activat ed by using the stylus (included with the te rminal) or your fi nger.
Aiming Beam The aimi ng beam is narrower wh en you hol d the termin al closer to a bar code and the ai ming beam is wi der when you hold it farthe r from the ba r code . The aim ing beam must be aimed closer to symbol ogies tha t have small er bars or element s (mil si ze).
