Once your seat is adjusted correctly, rock it back and f orth to make sure t he se at is locke d in posit ion.

T he d rive r’s ad vanced f ro nt ai rbag system includes a seat position sensor under t he sea t . If t he se at is t oo f ar f orw ar d, t he air bag w ill inf lat e wit h less f orce, regardless of the severity of t he im pact.
Moving t he f r ont seat f or cibly back agai nst carg o o n the seat o r f loor behind it. A re ar passenge r pushing or pulling on t he ba ck of t he f r ont passenger’s seat .
Only one air bag w ill de ploy during a side impa ct . If the impact is on t he passenger’s side, the passenger ’s side ai rbag wil l dep loy even if t here is no passe nger. − − − Child ren dep end on adul ts t o protect them. However, despi te t heir best int ent ions, ma ny a dult s do not know how t o protect child passengers. If you have child ren, or ever need to driv e w it h a child in your ve hicle, be sure t o r ea d t his sect ion.
− Whenever possibl e, lar ger childre n should sit in the bac k seat , on a boos ter sea t if needed, and be pr operly res t ra ined w it h a sea t belt ( see page f or impor t a nt inf orma t ion a bout prot ec t ing lar ger childre n).

Only a re ar -f a cing c hild sea t pr ovide s proper suppor t f or a ba by’s head, neck, and ba ck.

In any of t hese sit uat ions, we str ongly r ecommend t ha t you inst a ll t he child se at dir ect ly be hind t he f ront passenger’s seat, move the seat as f ar f orward as n eeded , an d leave i t unoccupied.
In sea t ing posit ions and v ehic les not equipped w it h L A T CH, a L A T CH- compat ible child se at c an be inst a lled using a sea t belt . What ever t ype of sea t you choos e, to prov ide pr oper prot ec t ion, a child seat should meet three requir ement s: L ook f or F MV SS 213 or CMVSS 213 on the bo x.

Push the leve r under t he st eer ing column all the wa y down. Pu sh th e l eve r up to lo ck the st eer ing w heel in posit ion. Make sure you have securely locked the steering wheel in place by t ry ing t o mov e it up, dow n, in, and o ut. Make any steering wheel adju stmen t s be f ore yo u start dri vin g.
