CONT INUED If you ever have a mo de rate to severe side impact , sensors will detect rapid accelerat io n and si gnal t he contr ol unit t o inst antly inf la te either the driver’s o r the passenger’s sid e airbag . If t he side a irbag of f indica tor comes on (s ee page ), hav e the passenge r sit upright . Once t he passenge r is out of t he air bag’s deployment pat h, t he syst em will tu rn the ai rb ag ba c k on , and the indicat or w ill go out.
If t he impact is on t he passenger’s side, t he passenge r’s side cur ta in airb ag will inf late even if there are no occupant s on tha t side of t he vehicle. Make sure t here are no objects near t he anchor s tha t c ould prevent a secure connection b etw ee n th e ch i l d s ea t and the anch ors. Move the seat belt buckle or t ongue awa y f r om the lowe r anch ors.
