P age 9 CURVED SHAFT GRASS DEFLECTOR WITH EDGER GUIDE - TRIM ‘N EDGE ONL Y EDGER GUIDE ASSEMBL Y See Figure 4. n Assemble the two plastic pieces of the edger guide together using the short bolt, flat washer , lock washer and wing nut. n Slide the edger guide to adjust it to the desired trimming length.
P age 10 ST RAIG HT SHAF T GRA SS DEFL ECTO R - EASY REACH See Figure 7. n Remove the w ing nut and clamp fro m the grass deflector . n Assemble straight shaft grass deflector to drive shaft so that the pin in the grass deflector fits in the locator hole in the lower side of the drive shaft near the gear head.
P age 11 FILLING T ANK n Clean surface ar ound fuel cap to prevent contamination. n Loosen fuel cap slowly . Rest the cap on a clean surface. n Car efully pour fuel into the tank. Avoid spillage. n Prior to replacing the fuel cap, clean and inspect the gasket.

P age 13 OPERA TION EDGER GUIDE OPERA TION - TRIM ‘N EDGE ONL Y See Figures 12 - 13. n Loosen the wing nut and slide the edger guide to adjust it to the desired trimming length then retighten the wing nut secur ely . Refer to “Edger Guide Assembly” earlier in this manual for additional information.

P age 15 MAINTENANCE T o install the spool retainer: T ur n the spool r etainer clockwise for T rimlite and T rim ’n Edge. T ur n the spool retainer counter clockwise for Easy Reach. n Pull the strings again to rotate the spool into cutting position.

P age 17 TROUBLESHOOTING PROBLEM POSSIBLE CAUSE SOLUTION 1. Check spark. Remov e spark plug. Reatta ch the spark plug cap and lay spark plug on metal cylinder . Pull the starter rope and watch for spark at spark plug tip. If ther e is no spark, repeat test with a new spark plug.
