— 3 — English IMPORTANT INFORMATION Read and understand tool labels and all of the operating instructions, safety precautions and warnings in this manual before operating or maintaining this nailer. Failure to follow warnings could result in DEATH or SERIOUS INJURY.
— 4 — English SAFETY IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS MMMM FOR USING NAILERS MMlMM READ AND UNDERSTAND ALL INSTRUCTIONS DANGER 1. OPERATORS AND OTHERS IN WORK AREA MUST WEAR SAFETY GLASSES WITH SIDE SHIELDS. When operating the Nailer, always wear safety glasses with side shields, and make sure others in work area wear safety glasses, too.
— 5 — English 6. NEVER POINT TOOL AT YOURSELF OR OTHERS IN WORK AREA. Always assume the Nailer contains fasteners. Never point the Nailer at yourself toward yourself or others, whether it contains fasteners or not. If fasteners are mistakenly driven, it can lead to severe injuries.
— 6 — English SAFETY — Continued WARNING 20. KEEP FACE, HANDS AND FEET AWAY FROM FIRING HEAD AT ALL TIMES. Never place your face, hands or feet near the firing head. A serious injury can result if the nails are deflected by the workpiece, or are driven away from the point of entry.
— 7 — English 36. USE ONLY GENUINE HITACHI HEAT TREATED NAILS FOR HITACHI NR65AK. Use only genuine HITACHI heat treated nails of (8d) .131 × 1-1/2", (10d) .148 × 1-1/2", (10d) .148 × 2-1/2", (16d) . 162 × 2-1/2" for HITACHI NR65AK to avoid serious injury from ricocheting nails.

— 9 — English NAIL SELECTION WARNING 䢇 Use only genuine HITACHI heat treated nails for this NR65AK to avoid serious injury from ricocheting nails. The use of any other nails and non-heat treated nails could result in dangerous tool malfunction and/or nail malfunction, causing serious injury.

— 11 — English TESTING THE NAILER DANGER 䢇 Operators and others in work area MUST wear safety glasses with side shields which conforms to ANSI Z87.1 specifications. WARNING 䢇 Never use Nailer unless push lever is operating properly. 䢇 Do not push tool forward when positioning the first nail in metal hole.
— 12 — English Before actually beginning the nailing work, test the Nailer by using the checklist below. Conduct the tests in the following order. If abnormal operation occurs, stop using the Nailer and contact a Hitachi authorized service center immediately.
— 13 — English Adjust the air pressure at recommended operating pressure 80 – 120 psi (5.4 – 8.3 bar 5.5 – 8.5 kgf/cm 2 ) according to the length of nails and the hardness of workpiece. The correct air pressure is the lowest pressure which will do the job.
— 14 — English NAILER OPERATION Read section titled “SAFETY”(pages 4 – 7). DANGER WARNING 䢇 NEVER point tool at yourself or others in work area. 䢇 Keep fingers AWAY from trigger when not driving nails to avoid accidental firing. 䢇 Choice of triggering method is important.
— 15 — English (2) Pull the trigger to drive a nail with keeping your face and hands away from the nose muzzle. (3) Remove finger from the trigger. Remove the nailer from workpiece and reposition into the next pre-punched metal hole. Repeat same process.

— 28 — Français Régler la pression d’air à la pression de travail recommandée de 80 – 120 psi (5,4 – 8,3 bars, 5,5 – 8,5 kgf/cm 2 ) en fonction de la longueur des clous et de la dureté du matériau. La pression d’air correcte est la pression la plus basse capable d’effectuer le travail.
— 29 — Français Retrait des clous : 1 Appuyer légèrement sur le bouton de la plaque d’alimentation et glisser lentement l’alimenteur de clous vers l’avant. 2 Sortir les clous du cloueur. UTILISATION DU CLOUEUR Lire la section intitulée “SECURITE” (pages 19 – 22).
