-1- P ART INDENTIFICA TION HOW TO OPERA TE TO INST ALL THE HANDLE (Fig. 2) 1. Insert the handle 1 into the opening on the top of the cleaner and ) tighten screw 2 2) Fix the handle cover to handle firmly . When you take it off, insert a screwdriver (straight type) in the side hole of handle cover and detach it.
-2- ON-OFF SWITCH (Fig. 3) T urn cleaner on or of f by pushing downward on the power switch 3 CORD STORAGE AND RELEASE (Fig. 4) 1. T o store the cord, turn the upper cord storage hook 4 to the upward position, and wrap the cord around the hooks.
-3- AUTOMA TIC HEIGHT CONTROL (Fig. 6) The HIT ACHI vacuum cleaner has an automatic height control, which adjusts the nozzle to the proper height of any carpet pile. DUST COMP ARTMENT OPERA TION (Fig. 7) When the orange sign 6 appears continuously in the window , empty the dust compartment.
-4- HOW TO USE T OOLS (Fig. 10, 1 1, 12) Use the tools you require for cleaning hard floors, fabrics and curtains etc. 1. Ensure the cleaner is in the upright position. 2. Hold the dusting brush 8 and the extension pipe 9 as shown in Fig.10, and disconnect the dusting brush from the extension pipe.
-5- HOW TO CLEAR A BLOCKAGE If your cleaner is used when the dust compartment is full or if any blockages are sucked in by accident, the air ducts may become clogged. If this occurs, remove the blockages or obstructions from the air ducts as follows. CAUTION: Be sure to disconnect the plug from the electrical outlet.
-6- How to empty the dust compartment 1) Empty the dust compartment before dust reaches the max line. 2) If you continue using the cleaner , the suction power will be diminished due to dust clogging the filter . 3) Please remove the dust. NOTE: Switch off the power and remove the mains plug from the socket before emptying the dust compartment.
-7- *Filters in dust case (W ashable) (Maintenance once a month) (Fig. 19) 1) Remove the dust compartment and empty out the dust. 2) -1. Press the button with thumb. -2. Remove the cyclone case by pushing the button with two fingers (the forefinger and the middle finger).
-8- SERVICING AND REP AIRS CAUTION: Be sure to disconnect the plug from the electrical outlet before replacing the belt or the rotary brush. *HOW TO REPLACE THE BEL T (Fig. 21, 22) The drive belt should be checked regularly to ensure that it is in good condition.
-9- HOW T O MAINT AIN CLEANING EFFICIENCY ● The plug of the power supply cord should be removed from the socket outlet before cleaning the appliance or undertaking maintenance operations.
-10- IMPORT ANT The mains lead on this equipment is supplied with a moulded plug incorporating a fuse, the value of which is indicated on the pin face of the plug. Should the fuse need to be replaced, an AST A or BSI approved BS 1362 fuse must be used of the same rating.
