7 BEFORE USING THIS PROJECTION COLOR TV Note This is not an integrated digital TV. To watch di gital broadcast programs (if available), y ou have to purchase a Digital Set-Top Box that will receiv e and decode digital broadcast signals and input to the TV via the component input terminals.
8 Precautions when using the batteries ķ Do not use old and new batteries together. ĸ Do not use different types of batteries (for exam ple, Manganese and Alkaline batteries) together. Ĺ Remove the batteries from the remote control unit if you do not intend to use the unit for long periods of time.

13 GETTING STARTED Power on/off POWER indicator POWER button TO TURN ON THE PO WER Press the POWER button on the TV set. The power indicator will light up to indicate that the power is on.
14 GETTING ST AR TED Instructions fo r operating menu ƽ Before watching the TV , please familiarize yourself with this m ethod to use the menu function of this TV . ƽ Instructions in this manual are based on using the remote control unit. The words or sym bols with frames refer to the buttons on the rem ote control unit.
15 GETTING STARTED Selecting the on-scr een disp lay language You can choose from two different languages (Chinese and English) for the on- screen displays. When necessary, you m ay change the displayed language following the pro cedures below. 1 Press the MENU button to display menu as show n on the right.
16 GETTING STARTED Easy Preset It becomes conv enient for the customers to program the TV using the remote control unit and detailed OSD of the TV set. 18 ON-SCREEN DISPLAY MENU Ǐ PICTURE MENU ǐ 3 Press the ź cursor button until the second page in the Picture menu appears as sh own on the right. These settings allow you to enhance or improve the v isual condition of the picture. Notes : ˄ 1 ˅ If Noise Red uctio n is set to High or Low ˈ the Sharpness option cannot be adjusted.

30 ON-SCREEN DISPLAY MENU Ǐ SETUP MENU ǐ Ǐ Auto Link ǐ Use this function to automatically switch on the TV and switch it to AV1 or AV5 mode when it detects a video signal from INPUT1 (or Y signal or HDMI INPUT interface) or INPUT5 (or S-VIDEO signal) term inal of the TV.

32 CONVERGENCE ADJUSTMENT Over a period of tim e, the picture tubes ca n drift out of alignm ent due to abnormal bum ps and vibrations or s hifting of the TV. You ma y then notic e that there are color ring s or halos ar ound the objects in the picture.
33 MULTI PICTURE ˄ The function shown as below is designed for the C43-F L9000 model. ˅ The Multi Picture function of this projection TV provides two modes, S plit and P in P . To use the Multi Picture function allows y ou to enjoy the program s easily and com fortably.
34 MULTI PICTURE Ǐ P in P ǐ Follow the steps on page 21 to enter the Function m enu and select the Multi Picture option, then enter the Multi Picture menu and select the Multi Picture option as shown on the right. Press the ŻŹ cursor buttons to set the Multi Picture option to P in P m ode, then exit from the menu.

36 MULTI PICTURE Ǐ P in P ǐ Follow the steps on page 21 to enter the Function m enu and select the Multi Picture option, then enter the Multi Picture menu and select the Multi Picture option as shown on the right. Press the ŻŹ cursor buttons to set the Multi Picture option to P in P m ode, then exit from the menu.
37 MULTI PICTURE ƽ Once you enter the P in P m ode, press the A/B button to select any one of the two pictures. A red sym bol will appear on top of the selected picture, indicating: ˄ 1 ˅ The TV speakers will output the sound from the selected picture.
38 CH SURF FUNCTION The CH Surf function of this TV provides two modes, mode 3 and mode 12 . To use this function allows y ou to enjoy the program s easily and comfortably . In norm al picture mode, press the CH SURF button to enter mode 3 or m ode 12 .
39 CH SURF FUNCTION Ǐ Mode 12 ǐ Follow the steps on page 21 to enter the Function menu and select the Multi Picture option, then enter the Multi Picture menu and select the CH Surf option as shown on the right. Press the ŻŹ cursor buttons to set the CH Surf option to mode 12 , then exit from the menu.

41 OTHER FUNCTIONS ASPECT MODE ˄ The function show n as below is designed for the C43-FL 9000 model. ˅ 1.When non HD component signal is received You may set different aspect modes to view the image with different signal formats. You can change between four different m odes, lj 4:3 NJ , lj 4:3 Z oom NJ , lj 16:9 NJ and lj 16:9 Z oom NJ .
42 OTHER FUNCTIONS ASPECT MODE ˄ The function show n as below is designed for the C52-WD9000 m odel. ˅ You may set different aspect modes to view the image with different signal formats. Ǐ TV P.Size ǐ This function is available for conventional TV broadc ast (RF) signal input.
43 OTHER FUNCTIONS ƽ To switch aspect mode, please press the P.SIZ E button, the TV will displa y the corresponding aspect mode momentarily at the lower part of the screen. F or example, set the current aspect mode to lj 16:9 NJ as sh own at the lower left side.
44 OTHER FUNCTIONS Ǐ Auto P.Size ǐ The Auto P.Size is designed for HD MI INPUT interface. Follow the steps on page 2 1, 22 to enter the menu, the n access the Function m enu and select the Auto P.Size option. Press the ŻŹ cursor buttons to change between On and Of f .
45 OTHER FUNCTIONS DVD buttons With this remote control unit, you can use it to operate the selected brands of DVD players by pressing the following buttons on this rem ote control unit simultaneously. Example To operate HITAC HI DVD play er, press and hold the RECALL button, followed by the ķ button.
