1 Introduction The APC Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) is designed to prevent blackouts, brow n outs, sags, and surges from reaching your equipment. The uninterruptible power supply (UPS) filters small uti l- ity line fluctuations and isolates your equipment from large disturbances by internally disconnecting from the utility line.

4 2: S TART UP Connect Equipment to the UPS Rear Panels 110/120 V: 230 V: • Note: A laser printer draws significantly more power than other types of equipment and may ove r load the UPS.
5 Start the UPS 1. Plug the UPS into a two - pole, three - wire, grounded receptacle only. Avoid using exte n sion cords. 110/120 V models : The power cord is attached to the UPS. The input plug is a NEMA 5 - 15P. 230 V models: The power cord is supplied in the UPS literature kit.

9 5: S TORAGE AND M AINTENANCE Storage Store the UPS covered in a cool, dry location, with th e ba t tery fully charged. At - 15 to +30 ° C (+5 to +86 ° F), charge the UPS ba t tery every six months. At +30 to +45 ° C (+86 to +113 ° F), charge the UPS ba t tery every three months.

12 Shipping and Service Prepare the UPS for shipping: Shutdown and disconnect any equipment attached to the UPS. Shut down th e UPS, and di s connect the UPS from the utility power outlet. Disconnect the battery. If the UPS requires service do not return it to the dealer.
