On the bac k panel, plug the f emale end of the power cord i nto the receptacl e. Then pl ug the male end i nto a two-pole, three-wire, gr ounding recept acle.

990-1137A, 01/03 4 3: O PERA TION F RONT P ANEL Power On Power Off For Pos it io n On ly | Cold Start When the UPS is off and there is no utility power, use the cold start feature to apply powe r to the connected e quipm ent from the UPS’s battery. Col d start is not a normal condition.
5 990-1137A, 01/03 U TILITY P OWER During normal operation, the UPS m onitors the utility power and delivers power to the connected equipm ent. If your s ystem is expe riencing e xcessive periods of high or low voltage, ha ve a certifi ed electrician check your facility f or electrical problems.
990-1137A, 01/03 6 Battery Charge The five-LE D display on the right of the f ront panel s hows the prese nt charge of the UPS battery as a percenta ge of the battery capacity. W hen all five LEDs are lit, the battery is fully charged. The LEDs e xtinguish, from top to b ottom, as the battery capacity diminishes.
7 990-1137A, 01/03 B ASIC C ONNECTORS Computer Inter- face Port Power managem ent software and interf ace kits can be used with the UPS. Use only interface kits supplied or approved b y APC. Use the APC supplied cable to connect to the Computer Interface Port.
