1 General Infor mation The Indoor/Ou tdoor 150 W PowerSh ield provides power sou rcing for broadban d cable equi pment. This un it may be moun ted on a pole or w all. Safet y -Sa ve this Important Safe ty Information Read and follow all safety, installation, maintenan ce, and service instructions in this manual.
2 Installation Prior to installing the power supply enclosure utility line voltage must b e routed to the enclosure. Local, state, federal and/or Nation al Electric Code (NEC) regulations regarding location, permits and electrical wiring must be adh ered to.
3 Unpack Inspect the unit upon receipt. Notify the carrier if there is damage. The packaging is recyclable; save it for reuse or dispos e of it properly . The package contains : ➼ Enclosure w ith mounting bracket attached ➼ Battery cable assembly ➼ Product doc umentation.
4 Mounting th e Brac ket on a Steel or Concret e Pole Mounting the Brac ket on a Wall Use straps that are appropriate for the w eight of this unit. Use screws that are appropriate for the w eight of this unit and the mountin g surface m aterial. Refer to Specification s in this manua l.
5 Connect Utility Power to the Enclosure Displa y panel located insid e the enclos ure. Local, state, federal and/or National E lectric Code (NEC) reg ulations rega rding location, permits and electrical wiri ng m ust be adhered to. The customer supplied utility p ower cable may be routed through the side, top or bottom of the enclosure.
6 Output Connections 7-Pin Communication Signals Connector Connect equi pment to the UPS output connector receptacle v ia the seven-pin outpu t connector (inclu ded), or use an A PC custom data cabl e, (must be ordered s eparately ).
7 Status Indicators Status indicators are located on the display pan el inside the enclosure. Green indicates the UPS is on utility po wer. Yellow indicates the UPS is on batter y power. Green in dicates DC output power is pres ent. Red indicates that the battery is not connected or the battery needs to be replaced.
8 Limited Warranty America n Power Conversi on (APC) warrant s its produ cts to be free from d efects in materia ls and workmanshi p for a period of two years from th e date of purch ase.
