1 Introduction The APC Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) is designed to prevent blackou ts, browno uts, sags, and surges from reaching y our equipment. The uninterruptible power supply (UPS) filters sm all util- ity line fluct uations and isolates yo ur equipment from large disturbances by i nternally disconnecting from the utility line.
2 Rack-Mounting Two-post rack-mounting : Utilize the bracket holes that are offset 6.25”. Secure clip-nuts to the ra ck, and attach brackets with prov ided screws.
3 Tower Configuration Attention: Connect the battery before tower setup by r eferring to applicable steps in Rack- Mounting..
4 Wall Mounting Attention: Connect the battery before m ounting by referring to applicable steps in Ra ck- Mounting. To avoid a sa fety hazard, do not mount the unit on the wall with the bezel facing downwards, or with the di splay panel at the b ottom.
5 2: S T ART UP Connect Equipment to the UPS Rear Panels 110/120 V: 230 V: Note: A laser printer draws significantly more power than other types of equipment and may over- load the UPS. Connect the UPS to the Network (if Applicable) Serial Port Telephone/ Network Surge Suppression Ports Use only interface kits approved by APC.
6 3: O PERA TION Front Display Panel I NDICATOR D ESCRIPTION Online The UPS is supplying utility power to the connected equ ipment. On Battery The UPS is supplying battery power to the connected equipment. Overload The connected loads are drawing more th an the UPS power rating.

9 5: S TORAGE AND M AIN TENANCE Storage Store the UPS covered in a cool, dr y location, with the battery fully charged. At -15 to +30 ° C (+5 to +86 ° F), charge the UPS battery ever y six months. At +30 to +45 ° C (+86 to +113 ° F), charge the UPS battery every three months.
