1 Introduction The APC Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) is designed to prevent blackouts, brow n outs, sags, and surges from rea ching your equipment. The uninterruptible power supply (UPS) filters small uti l- ity line fluctuations and isolates your equipment from large disturbances by internally disconnecting from the utility line.

4 2: S TART UP Connect Equipment to the UPS Rear Panel • Note: A laser printer draws significantly more power than other types of equipment and may ove r load the UPS. Connect the UPS to the Network (if Applicable) Network Connectors Serial Port Modem/Telephone/Fax Ports Network Surge Suppre s sion Ports Use only interface kits a p proved by APC.
5 Start the UPS 1. Plug the UPS into a two - pole, three - wire, gr ounded receptacle only. Avoid using exte n sion cords. The power cord is attached to the UPS. The input plug is a NEMA 5 - 15P. 2. Check the site wiring fault LED located on the rear panel.

9 5: S TORAGE AND M AINTENANCE Storage Store the UPS covered in a cool, dry location, wi th the ba t tery fully charged. At - 15 to +30 ° C (+5 to +86 ° F), charge the UPS ba t tery every six months. At +30 to +45 ° C (+86 to +113 ° F), charge the UPS ba t tery every three months.
