2 FOREWORD The design of models BT -80 and 100 comply with the current edition of ANSI Z21.10.3-CSA 4.3 as automatic storage or automatic circulating tank type water heaters. Installation diagrams are found in this manual. These diagrams will serve to provide the installer with a reference for the materials and method of piping necessary .
3 GENERAL SAFETY INFORMA TION PRECAUTIONS DO NOT USE THIS APPLIANCE IF ANY P ART HAS BEEN UNDER W ATER. Immediately call a qualified service technician to inspect the appliance and to replace any part of the control system and any gas control which has been under water.
4 IF YOU EXPERIENCE AN OUT -OF-GAS SITUA TION, DO NOT TRY TO RELIGHT APPLIANCES YOURSELF , ask your LP delivery person to relight pilots for you. Only trained LP professionals should conduct the required safety checks in accordance with industry standards.

11 FOR YOUR SAFETY READ BEFORE LIGHTING • If you cannot reach your gas supplier , call the fire department. C. Use only your hand to push down or turn the gas control knob. Never use tools. If the knob will not push down or turn by hand, don’t try to repair it, call a qualified service technician.
12 It is recommended that lower water temperatures be used to avoid the risk of scalding. It is further recommended, in all cases, that the water temperature dial be set for the lowest temperature which satisfies your hot water needs. This will also provide the most energy ef ficient operation of the water heater .
