4 English GROUNDING INSTRUCTIONS For a grounded, cord-connected dishwasher: The dishwasher must be grounded. In the event of a malfunction or breakdown, grounding will reduce the risk of electric shock by providing a path of least resistance for electric current.

6 English ST ART -UP GUIDE Before using your dishwasher , remove all packaging materials. Read this entire Use and Care Guide. Y ou will find important safety information and useful operating tips. USING YOUR NEW DISHW ASHER 1. Rinse aid is essential for good drying.
7 English LO ADING SUGGESTIONS • Remove leftover food, bones, toothpicks and other hard items from the dishes. T o conserve water and energy and save time, it is not necessary to rinse dishes before putting them into the dishwasher . The wash module removes food particles from the water .
8 English LO ADING TOP RA CK The top rack is designed for cups, glasses and smaller items, Many items, up to 9 in. ( 22 cm ), fit in the top rack. ( See recommended loading patterns shown ) NO TE : The features on your dishwasher rack may vary from the drawings shown.
9 English SURE-HOLD • UTILITY SHELF F old down the extra shelf on the left or right side of the top rack to hold additional cups, stemware or long items such as utensils and spatulas. Adjustable 2-position top rack Y ou can raise or lower the top rack to fit tall items in either the top or bottom rack.
10 English LO ADING BOTT OM RACK The bottom rack is designed for plates, pans, casseroles, and utensils. Many items, up to 12.2 in. ( 31 cm ) tall, fit in the bottom rack. ( See recommended loading patterns shown ) NO TE : The features on your dishwasher rack may vary from the drawings shown.
English 11 • Secure heavily soiled cookware face down in the rack. • Make sure pot handles and other items do not stop rotation of the spray arm(s). The spray arm(s) must move freely . • Do not load items between the bottom rack and the side of the dishwasher tub because they might block the water inlet opening.
English 12 L O ADING S I L VERWARE B A SKET Load the silverware basket while it is in the bottom rack or remove the basket and place on a counter or table for loading. ( See recommended loading pattern shown ) NO TE : Unload or remove the basket before unloading the racks to avoid spilling water droplets on the silverware.
English 13 PROPER USE OF DETERGENT Use only detergent specifically made for use in dishwasher . Cascade, Cascade Complete and Electrasol Automatic Dishwashing Detergents have been approved for use in all Haier dishwasher . Keep your detergent fresh and dry .
English 14 2. Fill the Main W ash section with detergent. See "How much detergent to use." 3. Fill the P re- W ash section, if needed. 4. Close the dispenser cover . It is normal for the cover to open partially when dispensing detergent. NO TE : Use both sections for cycles with 2 washes.

English 16 RINSE AID DISPENSER Rinse aids prevent water from forming droplets that can dry as spots or streaks. They also improve drying by allowing water to drain off of the dishes during the final rinse by releasing a small amount of the rinse aid into the rinse water .
English 17 CYCLE SELECTION CHARTS Select the wash cycle and options desired. The dishwasher starts filling once you press cycle, unless you select a delay wash. Y ou can select an option as the machine is filling. A " • " shows what steps are in each cycle.
English 18 • If the incoming water temperature is less than the recommended temperature or food soils are heavy , the cycle will automatically compensate by adding time, heat and water as needed. NO TE : The sensor in your dishwasher monitors the soil level.
English 19 CANCELLING A CYCLE 1. Carefully open the door slightly to stop the cycle. W ait for the spraying action to stop before opening the door to access the control panel. 2. P ress the key 3. Close the door . The dishwasher starts a 2-minute drain ( if needed ).
English 20 ADDING ITEMS DURING A CYCLE Y ou can add an item anytime before the main wash starts. Open the door and check the detergent dispenser If the cover is still closed, you can add items. T o add items 1. Lift up the door latch to stop the cycle.
English 21 HEA TED DRY Select this option to dry dishes with heat. The dishes take longer to dry and some spotting can occur F or best drying, always use a liquid rinse. Some items (such as plastics) may need towel drying. NO TE : Heated Dry is an option with Anti-bacterial W ash, P ots and P ans W ash, Normal and China cycles.
English 22 T o delay the start 1. Close the door . 2. Repeatedly press until you see the desired hours of delay in the display . select a new number of delay hours. 3. Select a wash cycle and options. NO TE : T o cancel the delay and cycle, press Cancel.
English 23 Drying Lights up when the dishwasher is drying after the final rinse. Clean Displayed when a wash cycle is complete. The light will remain ON until door is opened. Sanitized Displayed when cycle has met sanitization conditions. The light will remain ON until door is opened.
English 24 If you have doubts about washing a particular item, check with the manufacturer to see if it is dishwasher safe. Aluminum Y es High water temperature and detergents can affect finish of anodized aluminum.
English 25 Plastics Y es A lways check manufacturer's recommendations b efore washing. Plastics vary in their capacity to w ithstand high temperatures and detergents. Load p lastics in top rack only . S tainless Steel Y es R un a rinse cycle if not washing immediately .
English 26 T o clean interior Make a paste with powdered dishwasher detergent on a damp sponge and clean. OR Use liquid automatic dishwasher detergent and clean with a damp sponge. OR See the vinegar rinse procedure in "spotting and filming on dishes" in "T roubleshooting.
English 27 T ry the solutions suggested here first and possibly avoid the cost of a service call... DISHWASHER IS NO T OPERA TING PROPERL Y • Dishwasher does not run or stops during a cycle Is the door closed tightly and latched? Is the right cycle selected? Refer to the Cycle Selection charts.
English 28 Dishes are not completely clean • Food soil left on the dishes Is the dishwasher loaded correctly? Refer to the "Dishwasher Loading" section. Did you choose the cycle that describes the most difficult soil in your dishwasher? lf you have some items with heavier soils, use a heavier cycle.
English 29 Is the home water pressure high enough for proper dishwasher filling? Home water pressure should be 20 to 120 psi ( 138 to 828 kpa ) for proper dishwasher fill. A booster pump on the water supply can be added if pressure is too low . NO TE : T o remove spots and film from dishes, try a white vinegar rinse.
English 30 DISHES DO NOT DRY COMPLETEL Y • Dishes are not dry Did you load your dishwasher to allow proper water drainage? Do not overload. Refer to the "Dishwasher Loading" section. Use a liquid rinse aid to speed drying. Are the plastics wet? Plastics often need towel drying.
English 31 Before calling for assistance or service, please check "T roubleshooting". It may save you the cost of a service call. If you still need help follow the instructions below . When calling, please have the purchase date and the complete model and serial number of your appliance.
