1 Gyration Ultra Cordless Optical Mouse W elcome to a world of unprecedented freedom in surfi ng, gaming, and mobile computing! Gyr ation’s Gyro technology delivers the ul tima te P C remote c ontrol device: th e Ultra Mouse.
2 The Ultra Mouse comes with a NiMH battery pack already installed, but you will need to remove the plastic tab located inside t he battery com partmen t. This clear plastic tab pre- ven ts the batt ery from disc harging unti l yo u are re ady to use your mouse.
3 Using the In-Line Battery Charger The In-Lin e Battery Charger is incl uded with th e Ultra Profes- sional model or available for pu rchase as an a dd-on accessory. T o charge the NiMH battery pack using the in-line battery charger: 1. Connect the power adapter to the in-line battery ch arger and plug it into a power source.
4 Setting Up and Sync hronizing the Ultra Mouse and the Gyration RF Receiver When in stallin g the U ltra Mouse for the first time or when add- ing additional Gyration device s t o the system , i t is necess ary to perform a T each/L earn sequenc e to synchronize the devices.
5 Therefore when adding a new device to a syst em, it i s ne ces- sary to put the receiver i nto Learn Mode and then press the T each button on all the devices that will be used on the sys- tem. After the T eac h/Learn sequ enc e is performed, the receiv er and device(s) wi ll remain synchronized after powering down and/or changing channels.
6 If you are installing three or mo re device s on a single receiver , see “I nstall ing 3 o r More Devices” o n page 12 . R e me mber if a T each/Learn sequence has alread y been performed, it is not necessary to re-s ynchronize th e de vices aft er a channel change.
7 Using the Ultra Mouse on the Desktop The Ult ra M ouse provi des great flex ibility in how y ou control your computer , and its optical sensor allows for precise tr acking on virtually any surface. Howev er for optimal performance, av oid highly reflecti ve glass or mirrored surfaces.
8 1. Set up and sync hronize the m ouse with the receiver ( see “Setting Up and Synchronizin g the Ultra Mouse and the Gyration RF Receiver” on page 4 ). 2. Hold the mouse in a comfortable, relaxe d position with your in dex finger on the Activation Trigger and y our thumb at the base of the Scroll Wheel (see il lustr ation).

10 c. Drag the tool onto th e icon sq uare next to the button that you wish to assign th e tool to and release the button. 5. T o assign t ools using th e Menu-D riven Method: a. Right-click the ic on squ a r e next to the thum b button that you wish to assign.
11 Gyration RF Receiver Learn Button Pressing the Learn button for two second s puts the rece iver into Learn Mode allowing you t o sy nc hronize one or more devices with t he rece iver . Afte r the devic es have been synchronized, pressing the Learn button again for two seconds takes the rec ei ver out of Le arn Mode.
12 Mode and no device s are tr ansmitting. Blinks slow ly (one blink per second) when the receiver is in Learn Mode and is awaiting a T each instruction from a device. Flickers rapidly when the receiver is oper ating in Normal Mode and a synchr onized device is tr ansmitti ng.
