GB - 9 DO NOT trans port machi ne while e ngine is runn ing. AL WA YS tur n off power to a ttachment and shut off fuel when transpo rting unit. Keep u nit free of de bris. Clean up oil or fuel sp ills. This p roduct is equi pped with an internal combu stion type engine.

GB - 13 Throttle Lever Chan ges the engin e speed. Fast (1) – Increas es engine s peed. Slow ( 2) – Decre ases engine speed. Power T ake Off (PTO) Swit ch Power take o f f (PTO) switch engag es and disengag es the mo wer blade s. Pull the power take off (PTO) switch to O n position to engage mowe r bla des (1).
GB - 14 FILLING FUEL TANK Add fuel to Fuel T ank as n eeded. See your Engi ne Manual for corr ect type a nd grade of fu el. T o add fuel to the fuel t ank: 1. Plac e unit in an open or wel l-ventil ated open ar ea. 2. S to p the engi ne. 3. Clean t he fuel ca p and the a rea around the fuel c ap to prevent dirt from e ntering the fu el tank.
GB - 15 5. Turn the ignitio n key to the Off position an d remov e the key . MOVING THE UNIT WITH THE ENGINE OFF IMPORT ANT : Never tow unit. 1. Shut O FF engin e. 2. Plac e seat in the serv ice posit ion (See SERVICE POSIT ION on page 17). 3. T urn righ t and lef t bypas s valv e lev er s counte rclockwi se 1/2 turn (Figure 5).

GB - 18 5. Lubric ate rubber g asket on new oil filte r with cl ean hydraul ic oil. 6. S p in new oil filter o nto filter ho using un til it mak es contact. Tighten oil fil ter anothe r 1/2 turn. 7. Add ne w oil to th e oil tank. It w ill take abo ut 4 quarts.
GB - 19 Remove Battery 1. Plac e seat in the serv ice posit ion (See MAINTENANCE S CHEDULE on page 15). 2. Disc onnect negati ve (–) ca ble first, then posi tive (+) cable ( Figure 9). 3. Remov e holddown and remove battery . Replace Battery 1. Replace b attery and s ecure with battery hol ddown.

GB - 21 If tire pres sure adju stment does not so lve tracki ng problem , adjust the limiter bol ts on the stop bra cket (Figure 1 2). Front bolts adjust fo rward an d rear bolts ad just re verse. Leng then the limi ter bolt (mo ve closer to lever) on side whi ch is too fast.
GB - 22 4. Turn the return nuts clo ckwise to d ecrease the distance or counter clockw ise to in crease the distan ce until ther e is 1/16 to 1/ 8 in. (1.59 to 3. 18 mm) betw een the return n uts and trunn ion. 5. Ti ghten re turn nuts togethe r . BELTS Belt Access 1.
GB - 23 MOWER DECKS Anti-scalp Rol ler Adjustment The anti-sc alp rollers are s et at the fa ctory for typ ical mowing hei ght, but c an be adju sted for high or low c utting conditio ns (F igure 18). Anti-S calp ro llers are intended to preven t lawn scal ping, not to cont rol cuttin g heigh t.
