LF1050-INS-LAB-RevE13 7 4 HANDLING PROCEDURES SHIPPING AND TRANSPORT A TION INSTRUCTIONS If the patient lift is to be r eshipped by common carrier , it should be packed in the same car ton in which it was r eceived. Unpacking WARNING: T he lift is heavy .
LF1050-INS-LAB-RevE13 8 5 ASSEMBL Y INSTRUCTIONS WARNING: T he lift is heavy . T o av oid per sonal injur y , DO NOT a ttempt to assemble the lift without assistance. 1. Engage the lift brakes, as shown above. 2. Remove the bolts from the bottom of the mast and base.
LF1050-INS-LAB-RevE13 9 6. Place the control box in the bracket, as shown above. 7. Attach the actuator bottom to the mast bracket and inser t retainer pin, as shown above. Insert r etaining ring through r etainer pin hole to secure actuator base to mast bracket.

LF1050-INS-LAB-RevE13 11 CHARGING THE B A TTERIES Char ge the batteries after assembly . 1. Ensure the batter y box power switch is ON (i.e., the red button is up). 2. Inser t the charger plug into the battery box charging socket (the top slot). 3. Inser t the other charger plug into the power supply .

LF1050-INS-LAB-RevE13 13 Lifting the patient from a bed 1. Position patient face-up in center of bed. Roll patient onto their side facing away from you. 2. Fold sling lengthwise, outside out, and place it halfway under patient with lower edge just beneath knees and sling handle on the outside, facing away fr om patient.
LF1050-INS-LAB-RevE13 14 Low ering the patient to the oor 1. Place a pillow on the base to protect the patient’ s head and neck (this is unnecessar y when using a sling with a head support). 2. For smooth, easy lifting, have the wheelchair or commode chair in ready position with wheel locks in locked position. 2. With patient face-up in center of bed, r oll patient onto their side away from attendant.
LF1050-INS-LAB-RevE13 16 EMERGENCY RELEASE In case of lift failur e while using the Lumex LF1050 Patient Lift, follow the procedur e below to safely lower the user . The Emer gency Lowering Device is located at the top of the actuator shaft. It is intended for use if the actuator fails to operate while a patient is suspended.
LF1050-INS-LAB-RevE13 17 7 CARE AND MAINTENANCE Pr oper care and maintenance ar e essential to keeping your Lumex LF1050 Patient Lift in a safe operating condition. In addition to inspecting the unit befor e each use, periodic maintenance checks should be done.
LF1050-INS-LAB-RevE13 18 CLEANING Regular cleaning is r ecommended ever y three months; clean the lift mor e often as needed. A soft cloth, dampened with water and a mild NON-ABRASIVE deter gent (household cleaner , soapy water , or hospital grade disinfectant) is all that is needed to clean your patient lift.
