1031FP-INS-LAB-RevA11 7 4 HANDLING PROCEDURES SHIPPING AND TRANSPORT A TION INSTRUCTIONS If the patient lift is to be r eshipped by common carrier , it should be packed in the same car ton in which it was r eceived. Unpacking 1. Check for any obvious damage to the carton or its contents.

1031FP-INS-LAB-RevA11 9 ASSEMBL Y 1. Remove the locking pin fr om the mast sleeve located on the r ear of the base. 2. Install the L-inserts in the base. 3. W ith the boom pointed in the same direction as the base legs, insert the mast into the sleeve.
1031FP-INS-LAB-RevA11 10 6. Scr ew the push handles into the mast and tighten the nuts. 7. Insert spreader bar attachment r od into spreader bar . Insert spreader bar r od into the U-bracket at the end of the boom. Align holes. Insert spreader bar attachment bolt and tighten.

1031FP-INS-LAB-RevA11 12 Lifting the patient from the oor 1. Position the patient lift behind the patient, placing a pillow over the base to pr otect and sup- port the patient’ s head and neck. Place the patient's head carefully on the pillow .
1031FP-INS-LAB-RevA11 13 ping for war d. R emoving the sling Gently pull the leg sections to the side, out fr om under the patient’ s thighs. Standing by the pa- tient’ s side, lean the patient for war d while suppor ting the patient with one hand.
1031FP-INS-LAB-RevA11 14 7 CARE AND MAINTENANCE Pr oper care and maintenance ar e essential to keeping your Lumex patient lift in a safe operating condition. In addition to inspecting the unit befor e each use, periodic maintenance checks should be done.
1031FP-INS-LAB-RevA11 15 CLEANING Regular cleaning is r ecommended. A soft cloth, dampened with water and a mild NON-ABRASIVE deter gent (household cleaner , soapy water , or hospital grade disinfectant) is all that is needed to clean your patient lift.
