- 3 - Installation of Software & Hardware FOR BEST RESULTS PLEASE IN ST ALL THE SOFTWARE FROM THE CD PROVIDED BEFORE PLUGGING IN YOUR SCANNER. Note: As a precaution, a RED warning label has been placed over th e large en d of th e US B plug to remind you to install the so ftware from the CD first.
- 4 - AmbirScan Installation d) Click “Install AmbirScan” on the CD menu screen. Follow the on screen step-by-step InstallShield W izard instruc tions to install the AmbirScan 2.0 software. e) If you do not al ready have Adobe Reader installed, you should select the “Inst all Adobe Reader” b utton on the CD menu.
- 5 - Note: After you have compl eted all software installations, we stron gly recommend you restart your computer even if you ar e not prompted by Windows to do so.
- 6 - STEP 2- Install Hardware After you have installed the soft ware and restarted your computer: a) Connect the U SB cable from the scanner to the USB port on y o ur computer as shown below. If necessary, please check your computer’s user guid e to identify the U SB ports available a nd their locations.
- 7 - d) Users with Windows 2000, ME, and 98SE opera ting systems may see th e “Windows Logo” compatibility warning screen whe n installin g the driver/hardware. We assure you that your scanner has been fully tested and is compatible with these systems.
- 8 - This calibration proces s will require the special b lack and white ca libration sheet that was included with your scann er. When calibrating, make sur e the page with the bla ck ba rs are facing do wn and no te the di rection of the arrows for proper insertion.
