BIOS Setup - 38 - 2-1 Startup Screen The following screens may appear when the computer boots. A. The LOGO Screen (Default) B. The POST Screen Function Keys: <T AB>: POST SCREEN Press the <T ab> key to show the BIOS POST screen.

BIOS Setup - 54 - 2-6 Integrated Peripherals eXtreme Hard Drive (Intel P55 Chipset) Enables or disables the X.H.D fun ction for the SA T A controllers integrated in the Intel P55 Chipset. When set to Enabled , the PCH SA T A Control Mode item below will be set to RAID(XHD) automatically .
- 55 - BIOS Setup AHCI Congures the SA T A controllers to AHCI mode. Advanced Host Controller Interface (AHCI) is an interface specication that allows the storage driver to enable advanced Serial A T A features such as Native Command Queuing and hot plug.
BIOS Setup - 56 - Link Detected Displays transmission speed. Cable Length Displays the approximate length of the attached LAN cable. Note: The Gigabit hub will only operate at a speed of 10/100 Mbps in MS-DOS mode; it will operate at a normal speed of 10/100/1000 Mbps in Windows mode or when the LAN Boot ROM is activated.
- 57 - BIOS Setup Onboard LAN1/LAN2 Boot ROM Allows you to decide whether to activate the boot ROM integrated with the onboard LAN chip. (Default: Disabled) Onboard USB 3.0 Controller (NEC USB 3.0 Controller) Enables or disables the USB 3.0 controller integrated in the NEC chip.
BIOS Setup - 58 - ACPI Suspend T ype Species the ACPI sleep state when the system enters suspend. S1(POS) Enables the system to enter the ACPI S1 (Power on Suspend) sleep state. In S1 sleep state, the system appears suspended and stays in a low power mode.

BIOS Setup - 62 - Press <Enter> on this item and then press the <Y> key to load the safest BIOS default settings. In case system instability occurs, you may try to load Fail-Safe defaults, which are the safest and most stable BIOS settings for the motherboard.

Appendix - 96 - C. Conguring a RAID array in RAID BIOS Enter the RAID BIOS setup utility to congure a RAID array . Skip this step and proceed to the installation of Windows operating system for a non-RAID conguration.
- 97 - Appendix Create a RAID Array: In the main screen, press <Enter> on the Create RAID Disk Drive item. Then the Create New RAID screen appears (Figure 4). The Create New RAID block displays all the items that need to be set for creating an array (Figure 5).
Appendix - 98 - 3. Assign Array Disks: After a RAID mode is selected, RAID BIOS automaticall y assigns the two hard drives installed as the RAID drives. 4. Set Block Size (RAID 0 only): Under the Block item, use the up or down arrow key to select the stripe block size (Figure 6), ranging from 4 KB to 128 KB.
