Its major functions include conducting the Power-On Self-T est (POST) during system startup, saving system parameters and loading operating system, etc.

Rebuilding applies only to fault-tolerant arrays such as RAID 1, RAID 5, or RAID 10 arrays. T o replace the old drive, make sure to use a new drive of equal or greater capacity.
