BIOS Setup - 38 - CPU Clock Ratio Allows you to alter the clock ratio for the installed CPU. The adjustable range is dependent on the CPU being used. CPU NorthBridge Freq. Allows you to alter the North Bridge controller frequency for the installed CPU.

BIOS Setup - 42 - DDR VTT V oltage Control Allows you to set the memory VTT voltage. Normal Supplies the memory VTT voltage as required. (Default) 0.720V ~ 1.050V The adjustable range is from 0.720V to 1.050V . Note: Increasing memory voltage may result in damage to the memory or reduce the useful life of the memory .

BIOS Setup - 44 - IDE Channel 0, 1 Master/Slave Congure your IDE/SA T A devices by using one of the two methods below: • Auto Lets the BI OS automatically detect IDE/SA T A devices during the POST .
- 45 - BIOS Setup 2-5 Advanced BIOS Features AMD C1E Support Enables or disables the C1E CPU power-saving function in system halt state. When enabled, the CPU core frequency and voltage will be reduced during system halt state to decrease power consumption.
BIOS Setup - 46 - First/Second/Third Boot Device Species the boot order from the available devices. Use the up or down arrow key to select a device and press <Enter> to accept. Options are: Floppy , LS120, Hard Disk, CDROM, ZIP , USB-FDD, USB-ZIP , USB-CDROM, USB-HDD, Legacy LAN, Disabled.

(Default: Enabled) OnChip SA T A T ype (AMD SB850, SA T A3_0~SA T A3_3 connectors) Congures the operating mode of the integrated SA T A3_0~SA T A3_3 controller.
BIOS Setup - 48 - Onboard GSA T A/IDE Ctrl Mode (GIGABYTE SA T A2 Chip, GSA T A2_6/7 Connectors) Enables or disables RAID for the SA T A controller integrated in the GIGABYTE SA T A2 chip or congures the SA T A controller to AHCI mode. IDE Congures the SA T A controller to IDE mode.
- 49 - BIOS Setup Onboard Audio Function Enables or disables the onboard audio function. (Default: Enabled) Onboard 1394 Function Enables or disables the onboard IEEE 1394 function. (Default: Enabled) Onboard USB 3.0 Controller (NEC USB 3.0 Controller) Enables or disables the NEC USB 3.
BIOS Setup - 50 - ACPI Suspend T ype Species the ACPI sleep state when the system enters suspend. S1(POS) Enables the system to enter the ACPI S1 (Power on Suspend) sleep state. In S1 sleep state, the system appears suspended and stays in a low power mode.
- 51 - BIOS Setup (Note) Supported on Windows 7/Vista operating system only . PME Event Wake Up Allows the system to be awakened from an ACPI sleep state by a wake-up signal from a PCI or PCIe de- vice. Note: T o use this function, you need an A TX power supply providing at least 1A on the +5VSB lead.
BIOS Setup - 52 - Hardware Thermal Control Enables or disables the CPU overheating protection function. When enabled, the CPU core voltage and ratio will be reduced when the CPU is overheated. (Default: Enabled) Reset Case Open Status Keeps or clears the record of previous chassis intrusion status.
- 53 - BIOS Setup Current V oltage(V) Vcore/DDR3 1.5V/+3.3V/+12V Displays the current system voltages. Current System/CPU T emperature Displays current system/CPU temperature. Current CPU/SYSTEM/POWER F AN Speed (RPM) Displays current CPU/system/power fan speed.
BIOS Setup - 54 - Press <Enter> on this item and then press the <Y> key to load the safest BIOS default settings. In case system instability occurs, you may try to load Fail-Safe defaults, which are the safest and most stable BIOS settings for the motherboard.
- 55 - BIOS Setup Press <Enter> on this item and type the password with up to 8 characters and then press <Enter>. Y ou will be requested to conrm the password.
BIOS Setup - 56 - Press <Enter> on this item and press the <Y> key . This saves the changes to the CMOS and exits the BIOS Setup program. Press <N> or <Esc> to return to the BIOS Setup Main Menu. 2-12 Save & Exit Setup Press <Enter> on this item and press the <Y> key.

- 75 - Appendix C. Conguring RAID set in RAID BIOS Enter the RAID BIOS setup utility to congure a RAID array . Skip this step and proceed with the installation of Windows operating system for a non-RAID conguration.
Appendix - 76 - Create Arrays Manually T o create a new array , press <2> to enter the LD View Menu window (Figure 4). T o create an array , press <Ctrl+C> to access the LD Dene Menu . In the LD Dene Menu , use the up or down arrow key to move to an item for further conguration (Figure 5).
- 77 - Appendix In the following procedure, we'll create RAID 0 as an example. 1. Under the RAID Mode section, press the <SP ACE> key to select RAID 0 . 2. Set the Stripe Block size. 64 KB is the default. 3. Under the Drives Assignments section, press the up or down arrow key to highlight a drive.
Appendix - 78 - Delete an Array The Delete Array menu option allows for deletion of disk array assignments. Deleting an existing disk array could result in loss of data. Record all array information including the array type, the disk members, and stripe block size in case you wish to undo a deletion.

Appendix - 82 - 3. Assign Array Disks: After a RAID mode is selected, RAID BIOS automatically assigns the two hard drives installed as the RAID drives. 4. Set Block Size (RAID 0 only): Under the Block item, use the up or down arrow key to select the stripe block size (Figure 6), ranging from 4 KB to 128 KB.

- 87 - Appendix 5-1-4 Installing the SA T A RAID/AHCI Driver and Operating System With the SA T A RAID/AHCI driver diskette and correct BIOS settings, you are ready to install Windows Vista/ XP onto your hard drive(s). The followings are examples of Windows XP and Vista installation.
Appendix - 88 - For the JMicron JMB362/GIGABYTE SA T A2 : Insert the oppy disk containing the SA TA RAID/AHCI driver and press <S>. Then a controller menu similar to Figure 3 below will appear. Select RAID/AHCI Driver for GIGABYTE GBB36X Controller (x32) and press <Enter>.
- 89 - Appendix B. Installing Windows Vista The procedure below assumes that only one RAID array exists in your system. For the AMD SB850: Step 1: Restart your system to boot from the Windows Vista setup disk and perform standard OS installation steps.
Appendix - 90 - Step 3: When a screen as shown in Figure 6 appears, select AMD AHCI Compatible RAID Controller and click Next . Step 4: After the driver is loaded, the RAID drive will appear . Select the RAID drive and then click Next to continue the OS installation (Figure 7).

Appendix - 92 - Step 3: When a screen as shown in Figure 10 appears, select GIGABYTE GBB36X Controller and click Next . Step 4: After the driver is loaded, select the RAID/AHCI drive(s) where you want to install the operating system and then click Next to continue the OS installation (Figure 1 1).
- 93 - Appendix Rebuilding an Array: Rebuilding is the process of restoring data to a hard drive from other drives in the array . Rebuilding applies only to fault-tolerant arrays such as RAID 1, RAID 5, or RAID 10. T o replace the old drive, make sure to use a new drive of equal or greater capacity .
Appendix - 94 - For the JMicron JMB362/GIGABYTE SA T A2 : Turn off your computer and replace the failed hard drive with a new one. Use either the RAID setup utility or the GIGABYTE RAID CONFIGURER utility in the operating system to perform the rebuild.
- 95 - Appendix • Rebuilding in the operating system Make sure the JMicron JMB362/GIGABYTE SA T A2 SA T A controller driver has been installed from the moth- erboard driver disk. Launch the GIGABYTE RAID CONFIGURER from All Programs in the Start menu.
