2 Section 1 — General Information A TS “HS” T ype T ransfer Switch 1.1 I NTRODUCTION This manual has been prepared especially for the purpose of familiarizing personnel with the design, application, installation, operation and servicing of the applicable equipment.
3 When requesting information or ordering parts for this equipment, make sure to include all information from the DA T A DECAL. Record the Model and Serial numbers in the space provided below for future reference. 1.4 TR ANSF ER SWIT CH ENCL OSU R E The standard switch enclosure is a National Electrical Manufacturer’s Association (NEMA) 3R type.
4 Section 3 — Operation A TS “HS” T ype T ransfer Switch Conductor sizes must be adequate to handle the maximum current to which they will be subjected to, based on the 75°C column of tables, charts, etc. used to size conductors. The installation must comply fully with all applicable codes, standards and regulations.
5 • Manual operation handle in the DOWN posi- tion - LOAD terminals (T1, T2) are connected to EMERGENCY terminals (E1, E2). Do not use excessive force when operating the transfer switch manually or damage could be done to the manual handle. 3.2.
