2 1. INST ALLA TION 1.1 T o Install the Batteries Batteries are required for the Caller ID function and telephone operation of the unit. T o open the battery door and install the batteries, follow the procedure below : 1. Open the battery door by pulling back the latch.
3 1.4 Hanging the Phone on the Wall Y our telephone is also suitable for wall mounting. Use two screws for fixing. Drill two holes vertically , one above the other , 67mm apart, and leave the screws protruding from the wall by 5mm. Now place the telephone without the desk support over the screws and push it slightly downwards.
4 3. TELEPHONE Operation 3.1 Dialling a Call 1. Pick up the handset or press button (the speaker LED will light and the dis- play will show “ ”) and wait for a dial tone. 2. Press the keypad for the telephone number you wish to dial. The display will show the number that you dialled on the keypad.
5 3.5 Redial T o redial the last number called: 1. Lift the handset or press button. 2. Press the REDIAL button. Noted : The last number dialed manually (up to 32 digits long) can be redialed.
6 4 The Phone Book IMPORT ANT : When using the phone book features, please note it is only avail- able at data bank mode (CLIP icon turns off). If the CLIP icon is on, press CALLER ID/DA T A BANK button once. Y ou can store 100 telephone numbers with associated names in the phone book.
7 4.3 T o review the Phone Book Memory Enter the initial letter of the name of the person you wish to call using the number pad. After a short time, the display will show the first stored telephone number with this initial letter . Y ou can now search for further numbers under this letter by turning the jog dial to the right.
8 4.5 T o Delete the Phone Book Memory 1. Select the required location from the phone book by rotating the jog dial. 2. T o delete single memory , press DELETE button once.
9 • If the name and number are not available due to the caller’s restriction, the dis- play shows “PRIV A TE” with the time and date received. The NEW icon turns on and NEW CALL LED blinks. • If the name and number are not available, the display will show “UNA V AILABLE” with the call’s time and date.
10 5.3 Erase the Caller ID Memory 1. Select the required Caller ID memory location by rotating the jog dial. 2. T o delete single memory , press DELETE button once. The display will show the “DELETE?”. Press DELETE button for 2 seconds. The data for that call will be erased, and the CALL# and Caller ID information will be updated.
11 6 General Information 6.1 Approval The apparatus is approved for connection to direct exchange lines and to approved, compatible P ABX’s. It cannot be guaranteed that the apparatus will operate cor- rectly under all conditions when connected to some P ABX’s.
