Use saucepans with tight-fitting lids for cooking with minimum amounts of water . Cast Iron: If heated slowly , most skillets will give satisfactory results.

15 Burner caps and heads Bur ner caps Lift off when cool. W ash burner caps in hot, soapy water and rinse with clean water . Y ou may scour with a plastic scouring pad to remove burned-on food particles. Bur ner heads The slits in the burner heads of your cooktop must be kept clean at all times for an even, unhampered flame.
Burner grates Cast-iron burner grates should be washed regularly and especially after spillovers. W ash them in hot, soapy water and rinse with clean water . Dry the grates with a cloth— don’ t put them back on the cooktop wet. The grates may also be cleaned in a dishwasher .
