4 The Anti-Tip Bracket The range will not tip during normal use. However , the range can ti p if you apply too much force or weight to the open door wit hout t he anti-tip bracket f astened down pr operly . Tip Over Hazard A child or adult can tip the range and be killed.
5 COOKTOP USE Cooktop Contr ols Electric igniters aut omatically light the surfac e burners when control knobs are turned to LITE. Before setting a control knob, place filled cookware on the grate. Do not operate a burner using empty cookware or without cookware on the grate.
6 Surface Bur ners IMPORT ANT : Do not obstruct the flow of combustion and ventilation air ar ound the burner grate edges. Burner cap: Always keep the bur ner cap in pl ace when using a surface burner . A clean burner cap will help avoid poor ig nition and uneven flames.
7 Cookware IMPORT ANT : Do not leave empty cookware on a hot surface cooking area, element or surface burner . Ideal cookwar e should have a flat bottom, straight sides and a well-fitting lid, and the material should be of medium-to-heavy thickness. Rough finishes may scratch the cooktop or grates.
8 BAKEWARE T o cook food evenly , hot air must be able to circulate. Allow 2" (5 cm) of space around bakeware and oven walls. Use the following chart as a guide. Bakeware The bakeware material aff ects cooking r esults. Follow manufactur er’ s recommendations an d use the bakewar e size recommended in the recipe.
9 Br oiling BROILER The broiler is located below the oven door . Use an oven rack for broiling. T o r emove a rack, pull it out to the stop position, raise the fr ont edge, then lift out. Reverse the step s to replace a rack. Always broil with both the br oiler and the oven doors closed.
10 RANGE CAR E General Cleaning IMPORT ANT : Before cleaning, make sur e all contr ols are of f and the oven and cooktop are cool. Al ways follow label instructions on cleaning pr oducts. Do not wipe down any of the inside surfaces until th e oven has completely cooled dow n.
11 Oven Door For normal range use, it is not suggested to r emove the oven door . However , if removal is necessary , make sure the oven is of f and cool. Then, follow these instructions. The oven door is heavy . To R e m o v e : 1. Open the oven d oor .
