Oven Shelves BAKING (continued) —. Arrange the oven shelf or shelves in the desired locations while the oven is cool. The correct shelf position depends on the kind of food and the browning desired. As a general rule, place-most foods in the middle of the oven, on either shelf position B or C.

OPERATING THE SELF-CLEANING OVEN Normal Cleaning Time: 3 hours Before a Clean Cycle The oven must be completely cool in order to set the self-clean cycle. 1. Remove the broiler pan, broiler rack, all cookware and any aluminum foil from the oven— they can not withstand the high cleaning temperatures.

This can cause the glass to break or can cause damage to the door. To remove the door, open it a few inches to the special stop position that will hold the door open.
