Assembling You r System 3 Assembling Y our System 1. Prepare a clean, flat, and f i r m surface for y our computer . All o w at least thre e inches at the rear of the chassis for cabling and ai r circulati on. 2. Protect y our computer from e xtreme temperature and humidi ty .

6 Gateway ALR 7200 User’s Guide Powering Up the System Press the On/Of f switch on the front panel, and the green LED on the front panel will il luminate ON. If y ou turn off y our system, y ou must w ait at least ten se conds before y ou turn the system back on.
Powering Up the S ystem 7 Looking Things Over Sometimes, the simplest things can cause troub le. T o av oid unnecessary service calls, be sure y ou check o v er the basics be fore you call for support. In an y complex sy stem, there is potential for a forgotten c onnection, a for gotten switch or a loose connector .

Front Panel 13 Bezel Door and Keylock The bezel door of fers acce ss to the 3.5-inch flopp y disk dri v e, the other external 3.5-inc h driv e ba y and the 5.25-inch dri ve ba ys. The door ca n be lock ed to prev ent unauthorized access. Warning! The bezel door must be closed and locked while the system is running.

Rear Panel 15 V oltage Sel ector Switch Located on the back of the po w er suppl y module, this s witch must be set to the proper A C l ine vol tage used in your locality (115V A C or 230V A C). AC Power-In Connector This is a connect or into the po w er suppl y w hich pro vides the electrical cur rent to the system and its periphe rals.
