3 Step 1: Mount the nüvi T o mount the nüvi using the suction cup mount: 1. Plug the vehicle power cable into the power connector on the right side of the cradle. Cradle Power cable 2. Clean and dry your windshield with a lint- free cloth. Remove the clear plastic from the suction cup.
4 Step 3: Acquire Satellites W ith your nüvi connected to a power outlet in your vehicle, travel outdoors to an open area, out of garages, and away from tall buildings. Stop your vehicle. Acquiring satellite signals may take a few minutes. The bars indicate GPS satellite strength.
5 Using the Main Pages T ouch V iew map to open the Map page. The vehicle icon shows your current location. T ouch and drag the map to view a different area of the map. T ouch to zoom out. T ouch Menu to return to the Menu page. T ouch Arrival or Speed to open the T rip Information page.
6 Finding Points of Interest 1. T ouch Where to? > Points of Interest . 2. T ouch a category and a sub-category , if necessary . 3. Select a destination, and touch Go! . T o nd a POI by spelling the name, touch Where to? > Points of Inter est > Spell Name .
7 Using the FM T ransmitter Before using the FM transmitter in your area, see the FM transmitter legal notice in the owner ’ s manual. Use of FM transmitters is currently illegal in certain European countries due to specic radio frequency restrictions.
8 Loading Files on Y our nüvi Y ou can store les, such as MP3s and JPEG image les, in the internal memory of the nüvi or on an optional SD card. Connect the mini-USB connector to the back of the nüvi, and connect the larger end of the cable to an available USB port on your computer .
9 1. Connect the small end of the A/V adapter cable to the A/V IN connector on the right side of the cradle. 2. Connect the red, white, and yellow connectors to the corresponding plugs on your video device. 3. Apply external power to the video device, if necessary .
10 Protecting Y our nüvi Carry and store your nüvi in the optional carrying case. Do not store the nüvi where prolonged exposure to extreme temperatures can occur because it can cause permanent damage. Do not expose the nüvi to water . Contact with water can cause this unit to malfunction.
