1 1. MOUNTING 1.1 A ntenna Unit 1.1.1 GPS antenna unit Install the GPS ant enna unit referring to the drawing at t he back of this manual D-1. W h en selecting a m oun ting location f or the antenna, keep in m ind the following points. • Select a location out o f the radar beam.

8 1.2 T ransponder Unit The transponder un it can be installed on a desk top or flush m ounted in a panel. Install it on the chart table or near t he steering p lace, referring to the outline drawing. W h en selecting a m oun ting location f or the transponder, keep the follo w ing in m ind: • Keep the transponder out of direct sunlight.

10 1.3 Junction Box Mount the junction box where the junction b ox is protected from rain and water splash. Mounting 1. Open the lid of the junction box and fix the junction box with four t apping screws (5x20). Av oid bundling the 3.3 m cable of th e junction box together wit h any power cable.
11 1.4 Power Supply (option) The length of the power cable bet ween the power supply and the transpo nder unit is 3.5 m. Keep this length in mind when selecting a mounting locatio n. A longer cable should not be us ed – voltag e drop will result, af fecting performance.

T o select each item, press the [NEXT] key . T o go backward, pres s the [NEXT] key while pressing th e [SFT] key .
