1 Getting Star ted P3PC-2412-01EN Thank you for purcha sing Scan Snap S150 0/S1500M (hereina fter referre d to as "th e ScanSna p"). This manual describes the prepar ation req uired for u se of the S canSnap. Fo llow the pr eparation p rocedures described in this manu al.
2 Safety Precautions The provided "Safety Pre cautions" document contains important inform ation about the safe use of the Scan- Snap. Before using the ScanS nap, make sure to read and understand the informa tion provided in t he "Safety Precautions" document.
3 Inst alling the Sof tware This explains the p rocedures for installi ng the software from the Setu p DVD-ROM supplied wit h the ScanSnap. DVD-ROM drive is required for the instal lation. This explains how to install S1500 softwar e on a Win- dows ® (Microsoft ® Windows Vista ® ).
4 7. Choose the desti nation folder an d click the [Next] button. ⇒ The [ScanS nap License Ag reement] dia log box appears. 8. Read the full text of the "ScanSnap License Agreement". If you agree to the terms of this license, select [I accept the terms of the license agreement] an d click the [Next] button.

6 2. Plug the power cabl e into the p ower con- nector at the back of the ScanSnap, and the other end to an AC outle t. 3. Remove the tape seal on the USB connec- tor of the ScanSnap. 4. Connect the USB cable to the ScanSnap and your computer. 5. Open the ADF paper chute (cover) of the ScanSnap.
7 6. Check the [ ScanSnap Manager] icon. ⇒ The [ScanSnap Manager] ic on should be di s- played in th e taskbar. ⇒ The [ScanSnap Manager] ic on should be di s- played in th e Dock. ⇒ Connectin g the ScanSnap to yo ur computer is complete. Proceed to " Document Sc an Test " .
8 2. Press the [Scan] button on the ScanSnap. ⇒ Scanning sta rts. ⇒ The Quick Menu app ears when sc anning is completed. 3. Click an icon of the f unction you want per- form from the Quick Menu. ⇒ The select ed functi on starts . When usi ng an application , the applic ation window a ppears.
