13 Getting to Know Y our LifeBook BATTERY CHARGING INDICATORS Located to the left of each Battery Level indicator is a small arrow symbol. This sy mbol shows whether that specific battery is charging . This indicator will flash if the battery is too hot or cold to charge.
14 LifeBook S7000 Notebook Figure 2-10 Keyboard Keyboard USING THE KEYBOARD Y our Fujitsu LifeBook notebook has an integral 84-key keyboard. The k eys perform all the standard functions of a 101-key k e yboard, including the W indows k e ys and other special function keys.
15 Getting to Know Y our LifeBook CURSOR KEYS The cursor keys are the four arro w keys on the keyboard which allo w you to mo ve the cursor up , down, left and right in applications. In programs such as Windo ws Explorer , it moves the “f ocus” (selects the ne xt item up , down, left, or rig ht).

T ouchpad pointing device T ouchpad Pointing Device The T ouchpad pointing dev ice built into y our Fujitsu LifeBook is used to control the mov ement of the pointer to select items on y our display panel. The T ouchpad is composed of a cursor control, two left and right buttons, and a scroll button.

33 Getting Started HIBERNATION (SAVE-TO -DISK) FEATURE The Hibernation feature sa ves your syste m ’ s memor y contents to the hard driv e as a par t of the Suspend/ R esume mode. 37 User Installable Features Lithium ion Battery Y our LifeBook notebook has a Lithium ion batt er y that pro vides power for ope rating your notebook when no external po wer source is available. The battery is durable and long lasting , but should not be expos ed to extreme temperatures, high voltages, chemicals or ot her hazards.
38 LifeBook S7000 Notebook source of power either fr om an adapter , or a charged battery . Once you ha ve pro vided power , you will need to press the P ower/Suspend/Resume butt on to resume operation.

53 T roubleshooting Pow e r F a i l u r e s Y ou turn on your LifeBook notebo ok and nothing seems to happen. The installed primar y battery is completely discharged, ther e is no optional seco nd battery installed or there is no P ower adapter (A C or A uto/Airline) installed.
54 LifeBook S7000 Notebook Y our L ifeBook noteb ook will not wo rk on batt ery alone. The installed batteries are dead. Replac e the batter y w ith a charged one or instal l a power adapter . No batteries are installed. Install a charged batter y . The batteries are impro perly installed.
55 T roubleshooting An error message is displayed on the screen during the notebook (boot) sequence. P ower On Self T est (POST) has detected a problem. See the P ower On Self T est (POST) messages to determine the meaning and severity of the problem.
56 LifeBook S7000 Notebook Y our system displa y won ’t turn on when the system is turned on or wh en the system has resumed. The system ma y be password- protected. Check the status indicat or panel to verify that the Securit y icon is blinking. If it is blinking, enter your password.
