Features of the ScanSnap 17 Features of the ScanSnap The main features of the ScanSnap are as follows: z Turn documents into digital data by just pressing the [Scan] button By converting paper documents cl uttering up your desk into PDF or JPEG files, you can conveniently view, edit, manage and arch ive the documents in your co mputer.
Features of the ScanSnap 18 z The Quick Menu makes the operati on easy even for beginners The Quick Menu will allow you to start using the ScanSn ap right away even if it is your first time. Simply press the [Scan] button on the scanner to scan your document, and then the Quick Menu will appear where you ca n select the action you want to perform.

Parts and Functions 22 Parts and Functions This section explains names and functions of the ScanSnap par ts. ■ Front * : When the ScanSnap has turned off automatically , eithe r press the [Scan] button, or close the ADF paper chute (cover), then open it again to turn the ScanSnap back on.

System Requirements 25 ATTENTION z If the system requirements above are not satisfi ed, the ScanSnap may not operate. z Do not use the USB port on the keyboard or the mo nitor to connect the ScanSnap (it may no t function properly). z Make sure to use a powered hub equipped with an AC ada pter if you are using a commerciall y available USB hub.

Turning the ScanSnap ON/OFF 29 Turning the ScanSnap ON/OFF This section explains how to turn the ScanSnap ON/OFF. The ScanSnap is turned ON/OFF in co njunction with the computer. Therefore, you do not have to worry abou t turning the power ON/OFF as long as the ScanSnap is connected to a computer .

Specify which applications to display in the Quick Menu. z Showing or Hiding Application Icons The icons of the applications listed under [Show] are displayed in the Quick Menu. When you select an app lication in [Show] and click the [Remove] button, the application is moved to [Hide].
