2 LifeBook P7000 Notebook BIOS LifeBook P Series Notebook BIOS BIOS SETUP UTILITY The BIOS Setup Utility is a program that sets up the operating environment for your no tebook. Y our BIOS i s set at the fac tory for nor m al operating conditions, therefor e there is no need to set or change the BIOS environment t o operate your notebook.
3 MAIN MENU - SETTING ST AN DARD SYSTEM P ARAMETERS The Main M enu allo ws you t o set or view the current system parameters. Follow the instruc tions for N avigating through the Setup Utility to make any changes.
4 LifeBook P7000 Notebook BIOS Primary Master: Selects Primary Master su bmenu –— Displays the type of devi ce on this A T A/A T API interface, if there is one. Pressing t he Enter key select s the Primary Maste r submenu allowing additi onal device configuration options for this interfac e.
5 Primary Master Submenu of t he Main Menu The Primary Master submenu ide ntifies which A T A devices are installed. No te : Actual hard drive label shown may vary . Depending on the drive typ e, information such as cylinders, heads and sectors may also be displayed.
6 LifeBook P7000 Notebook BIOS CHS Format Cylinders/Heads/Sectors Cylinders: n A number between 0 and 65,535 –— This item is ac tive only when Hard Disk i s selected as the t ype. This field is changed by incrementing (p ressing the [Spacebar]), by typ- ing in the number , o r using the “+” and “-” keys.

Miscellaneous Configurations When selected , opens the Miscella neous Configur ations submenu, which al lows you to change the power button, Wa ke Up On LAN, and V olume settings.

19 Exiting from the Security Menu W hen you ha ve finished setting the parameters on the Security Menu, y ou can either exit from setup utility or mov e to another menu. If you wish to exit fr om setup utility , press the [ Esc ] k e y to go t o the Exit Me nu.

The following table shows the names of the men u fields for the Info menu and the information d isplayed in those fields.

26 LifeBook P7000 Notebook BIOS Discard Changes –— Selecting Discard Changes will load the previous values in BIOS memory for all menu fields. The message Load previous now? [Y es] [No] will be displ aye d. When confirmed the setup utility will return to the Ex it menu.
